Apostles and Prophets Grapple With What is Happening
December 11, 2008
By Steve Strang
It comes as no surprise that this is a time of great transition. In light of the economic downturn and the recent election results, which were different from what many conservative Christians prayed they would be, Christian leaders are meeting, and the question of "What's happening?" tops the agenda.
Last week I had the privilege of attending an invitation-only roundtable hosted by Rick Joyner. I have attended this annual meeting periodically since the early ’90s. What God is saying as a result of the election was one of the main topics of discussion, and I'll write more about it later.
The big event this week was the meeting of the International Coalition of Apostles (ICA), which takes place every December. This year the group met in my hometown of Orlando. It is the third time I have attended. In some ways the meeting was as it has been in former years. C. Peter Wagner, the founder of ICA, told me that people who attend say that every year is better than the one before. To him, this year was pretty much the same. However, the topics ranged from the Lakeland revival with Todd Bentley to a number of economic issues (which are actually brought up every year), and of course the election.
The high point according to many people was the message given by Apostle Kim Daniels from Jacksonville, an African-American minister and author who is well-known to the Charisma audience. She served on a panel about the supernatural and gave her views of what the supernatural is--a godly supernatural which is on the straight and narrow, or a carnal or fleshly supernatural which is the broad way.
In that setting she brought up the election. She was one of a relatively small percentage of African-Americans who supported John McCain because of the abortion issue, and she has defended Charisma and its editor, Lee Grady. Both have been attacked by some in the African-American community. She felt that many of the apostles and prophets, including those in attendance at the meeting, were stifled from speaking out what they believed God was saying because of fear of intimidation and making people upset. She broke that off them in a very dramatic way and received a standing ovation.
There was whispering among a number of the blacks who were in attendance, both those who came from Africa as well as African-Americans, yet interestingly no one challenged her or asked any questions during the question-and-answer period. Kim had such authority it was as if no one would oppose her.
I have written before that I think African-Americans--and all Americans--can be rightfully proud that we have elected our first African-American president. But many of us feel that biblical stands on the issues take priority over someone's race in determining whom we will support. Of course it's always risky to talk about politics; that's why many people say there two subjects you never discuss in polite society--religion and politics--because they are so divisive.
It's well-known that most African-Americans are Democrats. And had Hillary Clinton won the nomination for the presidency, as many of us thought a year ago she would, undoubtedly a large number of them would have voted for her. So I don't think it's just a matter of Obama’s being black. However, there is a divisiveness in Christian circles as a result of the election that Daniels spoke to eloquently at the ICA meeting and that earned her a standing ovation.
The session was videotaped, and if you’d like to watch it, you can order a DVD from Fresh Video, P.O. Box 5020, Woodland Park, CO 80866-5020. You can call toll-free in the U.S. at 1-800-687-6077, or order online at www.freshpublishing.com. The DVD costs $20. When you order it, you will get not only what Kim has to say, but also the comments from Chuck Pierce, Che Ahn, Greg Brown and Stephen Strader. It is the session that included the discussion about Todd Bentley. I got permission from Peter Wagner to make this available to the readers of the Strang Report.
Recently Kim Daniels wrote a blog that is posted on our charismamag.com Web site under the title "Somebody Say Amen." I am including what she has to say here because though it's not exactly what she shared at ICA, it does give her perspective, which I believe needs to be considered by the body of Christ.
As usual, you're invited to add your comments to what I've written or to what Kim wrote in her blog.

It Is Not About Obama's Faith!
By Kimberly Daniels
This column is a response to all the ministers who have shared their concern that the faith of President-elect Obama has been challenged. My position on this issue is very simple. I believe that the church, in general, has gotten away from the simplicity of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I agree that we cannot judge the heart of a man, but "keeping it simple" will allow us to know those with whom we labor.
Keeping it simple will also sharpen our ability to test the spirits that rule over us, to discern whether they are of God. Then, whether the leaders are saved or not, we will know how to pray for them.
We do not pray only for saved leaders. We pray for all leaders! It is important to have discernment when we pray, or we may become guilty of praying amiss. It would be a terrible thing to pray for leaders as though they are saved when they are not. We would be guilty of having blood on our hands!
Ephesians 4 says that five-fold ministry gifts are called to perfect (mature) the saints so that they will not be blown to and fro by every wind of doctrine released by cunning and crafty men waiting to deceive them. As an apostle of Jesus Christ, it is my responsibility to challenge anything that would hinder the unity of faith.
I am not speaking of a temporary, carnal unity that is undergirded by the opinions of men and motivated by a false love. Ephesians 4:15 commands us to speak the truth (in love). Love is not the root; truth is! Truth is true all by itself, but love that is not rooted in truth is a lie.
If we cannot get this principle, foreign spirits and demonic ideologies will penetrate our gates. Jude exhorted the church to earnestly contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints. He said that certain ungodly men had crept into the church unnoticed (grew up with believers and pretended to be like them but were not), turned the grace of God into lasciviousness (lust and perversion) and denied the Lord Jesus Christ (see Jude 3-4). It does not matter if we proclaim to be Christians (which means “like Christ”); certain acts cause us to automatically deny God, whether we admit it or not. We cannot be “like Christ” and believe that there are other ways to God besides Jesus!
Most of the ministers I have dealt with who say they are disappointed about how Obama’s faith has been questioned are black. I have a few questions for them: Where are the prophets in the black church? Prophets do not just pray; they decree and declare the will of God! Where are the apostles? They do not flow with the status quo but deal with principalities and come against anything that would exalt itself against the knowledge of God!
Where are the teachers who will teach sound doctrine that will not tickle men’s ears? Where are the evangelists who will save souls, get them filled with the Holy Ghost, cast the devil out and minister inner healing? Where are the pastors who will protect the flock from wolves and lions, even if it costs them their reputations?
God showed me that lines have been drawn in the spiritual realm. Many in the church have crossed these lines and received doctrines of devils that promote secular humanism and New Age religion disguised as Christianity. There are off-brands of Christianity in the world we live in that are nothing less than antichrist.
I have never questioned President-elect Obama’s faith. It is very clear that he is a man of faith. But I get concerned when people compare his faith to the faith of a born-again believer. Our faith could be considered equivalent to his only if Christianity were redefined.
Will we, as believers, stand by and allow the foundation of our faith to be broken into pieces and put back together in whatever way the New World order demands it should be? Radical Islamic groups have zero tolerance for any diversion from what they believe. They believe what they believe to the point that they love not their lives unto death. This is ironically what God commands His people to do in Revelation 12.
But we have not reached the point at which Christians will have to give their lives for their faith—yet. Can’t we at least lose our reputations if we do not have to lose our lives? Jesus was of no reputation! To walk in the anointing of God from now until 2012, we must become of no reputation--like Christ.
I do not understand why ministers are saddened by others’ challenging Obama’s faith as a believer. He claims to be a Christian—so it is OK to line up his faith next to the Word of God. President Bush and all other leaders are subject to the same scrutiny, especially when they make it an issue in a political race. Many people questioned Bush’s faith, but not one black minister came to me complaining.
In any case, the important factor is not whether Obama is a believer. He has the right to be a part of the faith of his choice. He does not have to be a Christian to be the president of the United States. My focus is on the fact that the devil has slowly and methodically deteriorated what it means to be a believer in America today.
· Preachers have condoned initiations into secret organizations such as fraternities, sororities, Masons and Shriners in the name of Jesus.
· Ministries have taken it upon themselves to include acts that God that chose to exclude (homosexuality, fornication and adultery) as being acceptable to enter His kingdom.
· Religious people have interpreted the Word of God in a way that lends support to doctrines of devils. They claim:
* There is no devil and no hell
* God loves everybody, and whoremongers and homosexuals will inherit the kingdom of God
* If a woman makes a mistake and gets pregnant, she has the right to kill the baby
* God is a God of love, and He sanctions marriage between members of any sex as long as the two partners love each other.
These doctrines not only conflict with the faith of the believer but also are abominations in the eyes of God. The God that I serve is a just God! If the things listed above are all right with God, then it would mean that God is unfair. He would have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah and repent for flooding the earth.
God is rigidly righteous (see Ps. 11), and His children are held accountable to live in holiness. Without holiness we will not see His face. If we do the things listed above, we are not holy! It is the responsibility of the priests to teach the people the difference between what is holy and what is common or unholy (see Lev. 10:10; Ezek. 44:15).
In closing, I would like to say that not everyone is a child of God! I am not anyone’s judge, but the Word of God is. Jesus told some people that their father was the devil and that they did his work (see John 8:44). It sounds nice and religious to say that we are all children of God, but it is a lie.
Salvation is about making a choice for Christ alone! God will separate the wheat from the tares, but until He does, we must have enough discernment to come out from among them. We must judge trees by the fruit that they bear.
It is simple: An orange tree bears oranges and a grape vine brings forth grapes. Signs will follow believers, and the souls of the heathen and the hypocrite will weigh in the balance. I agree that we need reconciliation, but let us put first things first. The priority agenda in the church should be reformation.
If Martin Luther King had not spoken out from streets and the churches, we would still be under Jim Crow. If Martin Luther had never pushed the doctrine that “the just shall live by faith,” everyone would be Roman Catholic. I will continue to sound the alarm for the sleeping church to awaken. I will also continue to seed the mind of the wicked with truth that they will not be able to deny in the midnight hour.
I will be praying for our country and our new administration, as I always have--prophetically! I pray that President-elect Obama will get to know God like never before. I also pray that he will be sensitive enough to give God more thanks at his inauguration than he did when he was elected.

I am curios about this group of individuals who have called themselves to these sacred positions of apostles and prophets and then organized themselves and ordained themselves with a voice for the church.
Wasn't it some of these same individuals who took part in recognizing and endorsing Bentley just weeks before his exposure? It would make him practicing immorality and sin even as they were anointing him!
Where was the maturity and discernment of these self-proclaimed magistrates? I am convinced that the 'track-record' of this 'group' of self-appointed elites fall far short of their claims of gifting.
I know many "unknowns" who are far too humble and submitted to Biblical structure to lay claim to titles of apostle and prophet whose lives and ministry protray the calling of the apostle and prophet without all of the 'pomp and circumstance' and self elevation.
These people have lost the respect and honor of the most of the 'grass-roots' church. The mega-church, 'holy-wood' celebrities may chase them around, but most Biblical Christians know better.

I am well pleased that Kim Daniels spoke truthfully as an Ambassador of God. It took courage to say what she said but it needs to be said. If the truth is not told how will anyone know the difference? We are too willing to bow so as not to hurt feelings. But we forget it is Jesus we have to answer to. Thank you, for being bold for Jesus!

Thank you for speaking up Apostle Kim Daniels (or Prophet, or both)...I am so pleased to see someone say what needs said. I for one was disappointed in the church and how it voted this election, but as you said, tares have been sown, and doctrines of truth have been abandoned for 'world views' that are not Christian. IT's time to wake up, on both ends, in prayer and in obedience for all the church and return to God in truth and spirit, and not flounder in the 'world's' one view kind of theology. Jesus is the truth, the way, the life, we can't compromise His standards, or we cease being true in our faith as disciples of Jesus Christ. Turn on the heat!!! It's time to get hot for Jesus, not lukewarm and worldly.

I only want to add, that you should be careful who you criticize. Most of the people you are flaming apologized publicly for the issues related to their endorsement of Todd Bentley, and I think they deserve to be forgiven.
Stay on topic. You were asked to comment on what was said about the Christian vote in this election and Obama...not your thoughts on these individuals and Bentley.
Also, do you really know their track record, or are you just coming to this conclusion based on your knowledge of what happened with Todd Bentley? If that is all, then you are not being fair to them.
Also, I might add that you should always be careful what you say about ministers, they report to God, not you. "Touch not God's anointed, neither do them any harm." It is well to be careful about our words in this regard. Just a reminder of what God has said about this. He will correct ministers who needs correcting....lets leave it to Him.

God said He was returning for His glorious church...if we look and act like sodom and gomorrah what part of that is glorious? We are called to be the salt of the earth..have we lost our flavor? People need not argue with what Kim Daniels says, they need to argue with the Word of God, b/c that is what she stands on. Jesus passed the baton over to us, are we running with it in truth? Or have we hid the baton in the closet? Do we taste like the rest of the world? May the Holy Spirit give us all eyes to see and ears to hear.

Excellant article by Kim Daniels. The appointments President elect Obama has made are clearly against the family and the church. It is evident this nation is headed for some very serious hard times. As she pointed out the church as a whole has accepted ideologies with regard to life issues, sexuality, morality and the attitude of me first. We must get into praying scripture, repent, to usher in the favor and presence of God once again for this nation. Presdient Washington's vision of the distruction of the Eastern Seaboard appears to be soon coming within the next four years.

Where were all of you during the last eight years? Rampant immorality and corruption. Homosexuality in the White House (Mary Cheney/Ken Mehlman/Karl Rove) and Senate (Larry Craig). Adultery and prostitutes in the Senate (David Vitter). Convicted crooks in the Senate (Ted Stevens) Things have been bad for eight years, and thanks to the president and company, they are as bad as they have been since the 1930's. The theological truth is that God does not punish the earth for our sins out of his wrath because it was satisfied at the Cross.

Um...Mr. Strang, apostles and prophets may be "grappling" with these things, but God knows what He is doing and He's not wringing His hands over anything. I for one know better than to take my spiritual cues from them. As anonymous at Dec.11 5:17pm stated and I agree, many of these "super apostles" are elitists that have lost touch with many that fill their pews every week. It's unfortunate however, that the "sheeple" are still being duped and intimidated by them with the threat of "touch not my anointed" Oh Please! Many of us here are just as "anointed" as Kim Daniels, we just don't have the platform she has. Just because "apostle" is in front of her name doesn't mean what she says carries any more weight. She and everyone else, including you all at Charisma, need to stop the hand-wringing and do what you all claimed you would do--pray for President-Elect Obama.

Dear Steven Strang
So glad you brought this up. However, I am disturbed that your article and Apostle Daniels' dealt with the same arguments and issues that were brought up during the election. It was, based on what I read and heard, this group of apostles and prophets that declared that John McCain and Palin will win. Also, some of them laid hands on Todd Bentley and somewhat declared him "righteous" or "gave him permission to run the revival." I might not have all the verbiage correct, but you know what I mean. What I hope I was going to hear from your letter, a repentance overview. Many of them prophesized in error. Where is the accountability to the body of Christ?
Okay...Obama, perhaps, might not be saved. He believe in abortion. However, he is NOW our elected president...can we all move on?
HOW: Glad you asked. I need your help.
The Rosa Parks Institute has launched a 381 days prayer initiative for President Elect Obama. The night Obama was elected over 2000 men joined the Klu Klux Klan. We must pray for the safety of our president, along with a host of other things. Also, the Institute don't want our nation divided among the races. Rosa Parks was about bringing the races together. So in conjunction with this prayer initiative, we are also setting up racial-relations dialouge sessions in different parts of the nation throughout the year to counteract this problem.
We need all prayer leaders to sign off on this initiative. Let's get going on this...What do you need from me to obtain their endorsements? I have been appointed the National Prayer Coordinator. Can you help me get the word out.

It is electrifying to hear from a true prophet of Almighty God. The message from our Lord the Spirit through Kim Daniels is as if we were hearing from the prophets of the Hebrew scriptures. They themselves stood alone amongst all of “the feel good”, “everything is all right”, “God is pleased with us” false prophets who had permeated Israel and the church today. It was at a terrible cost for those truly Holy Spirit filled prophets to speak out real warnings - they continually persecuted and killed for it. How often do we hear from the local church prophets a strong word of warning, of judgment, of holiness and humility to the whole body? Thank you Lord for Kim Daniels. May your message through her permeate the whole body of Christ in these truly last days.

I dont think there's anything wrong with questioning someone's public declaration of "faith" (whatever that means now). As a matter of fact we'd better cease this practice of taking people at their word and never examining what they claim to be against what the Word of God says they should be. Barack Obama doesnt get an exemption from that.
Thanks Apostle Daniels

Thank you for speaking truth at all cost! This is my hearts desire and prayer that the Christian Church will rise up and take its rightful place and stand against everthing that would try to stand against the Word of God and Truth. The problem now days is that many church leaders have preached the word which tickled the ears of many, but have not dealth with the truth and what God desires - the pure Word of God. Keep preaching truth! Thank you!

I appreciate so much what Kim Daniels said, there are Christians who do not put a title before their name who have been saying the exact same thing but Christians have refused to listen, calling them judgmental. But Bravo, if a title causes the church to change and be the "church" God has called it to be, instead of a dead church full of false teaching and false prophets, then again I say Bravo to Kim Daniels.

Kim Daniels column is great but can go further - race is an issue that the church has not and does not want to address.
I believe that the "demon of racism" is Satan's Chief of Staff, a very high position in the devil's administration.
The church - on Sunday morning - is the most segregated part of society in America. The issue of race has not been addressed as passionately as homosexuality and abortion. I believe Obama's election is the beginning of a judgement upon America to force us to deal with our past. The fact that his ancestory line does not run through the slave plantations of America, speaks volumes to the fact that he does not have the "slave mentality" that many African-Americans with slave blood in their system has had to overcome.
"The truth shall make us free..." so says John 8. Grace and mercy is what we need now, as the mighty hand of God moves upon this great country of ours through the person of Barack Obama.

Do Strang and Grady communicate with each other before posting articles?
Because this entire publication is either bordering on being bi-polar, or has lost so much credibily that they simply need to post on controversial topics to gin up activity.
How is it, that Grady can blast the drama at Lakeland in one article, YET in another article, Strang is telling us about a meeting of the very "Apostles and prophets" including one who volunteered to restore Bentley.
Yeah, the guy who is dumping his wife and is nursing a mistress on the side.
I also hope that apostle Daniels spoke about the prophets who divined a McCain-Palin win, only to later claim that God hid the results from them.
I hope that these apostles and prophets discussed the shameful rate of adultery, divorce and remarriage among ministers of the gospel.

The Blacks didnt do it alone have you forgot the blacks are called a minority.God has his own purpose and plan for the Earth, remember when the lord asked JOB were you there when I created the EARTH. How about you kim was you there, You are not all Knowing. The lord Jesus could have called a host of angels but he laid his life down. You mean some one with all this authority could not stop Oboma from being president. AND after all you ELITE apostles and prophets prayed so hard against him. What would Jesus say? He said pray for our leaders. I don't agree with abortion, yet I voted for President Obama. God had already told me, he would win. There was a move of the Holy Spirit in this election process. Pres.Obama constantly said,"I feel a righteous wind at my back" It's clear he didn't quite understand it. His name barak sounds like
barack, "blessed", as if every time his name was called, we were calling him "blessed". A man black&white, raised by white grandparents, graduated from Harvard, and turned down lucrative offers to work in the community. All of a sudden, the economy took a nosedive preparing the way for the election of this "upstart" President.
It's beyond black or white, God has said clearly, " with Him all things are possible." God uses imperfect people to accomplish His perfect plan. That's why he said
David had a heart for Him, even though David laid with a man's wife, and then had him killed? God is doing a new thing in the church and with the church. Young people are speaking with prophetic wisdom and knowledge, following very few of our traditions, and denying titles. He's calling forth those who are prophetic to listen more and follow His flow. He's speaking strongly in situations and circumstances because we have left God as a nation. Being a Christian has become, "the right thing to do" and tolerance means accepting "other gods". In this election, He has said clearly, I am God, I do what I want, with whom I want, when I want. Prayer can change the President Elect's stand on abortion. Now is the time to be still and hear the voice of the Lord. And be aware that some of us are not grappling, but yielded and following the flow of His prescence. More than ever we need to pray for our President's increased wisdom, revelation, obedience to God, and protection.

I attended the ICA (International Coalition of Apostles meeting in Orlando, and I saw things just a little different from Steve, who I believe only attended one and a half days. He said that "The high point according to many people was the message given by Apostle Kim Daniels." I spoke to many, many people in attendance, and not one brought this up as their high point. Yes, it was great what she said, and people definitely agreed with her, but to say it was a high point in the meeting is to devalue the rest of what went on there. Rather, I heard many say that the last days panel with International Apostolic leaders was a high point. Hearing what God is doing among the developing nations seemed to strike a strong cord in the hearts of those in attendance. I don't have any issue with what Kim said, I actually agree with her on this issue, but to paint the picture that she was the high point of these meetings is to do a major disservice to ICA.
Just my two cents!

I must say I get quite a kick out of some of the responses on this post. What I see is that the ones who are criticizing Kim Daniels don't know how their Bible very well and take a lot of things out of context and misquotes. Since they won't put their name on their post, that tells me a lot about their character and motivation for posting. We are to study the Bible carefully and speak with temperament not out of emotional reaction while not understanding what the person said to begin with. On the other hand there are those who are so excited that Kim spoke out and kind of get carried away in the moment.
I can tell you that in my opinion Kim is a pretty humble person and her remarks are very tempered and bibilical. I applaud this woman of God who is more concerned with what God thinks and wants than patting someone on the back. God is truly a God of Mercy but most people don't really know what mercy is all about. Even in mercy, there is justice. There are consequences to all actions.
We are commanded to pray for our leaders and that is exactly what I am doing even though I did not vote for the president-elect. I trust God in all things, even this so I wait in peace and keep my eyes on Him. The American church has not done what God commanded us to do. Instead we put in our church time and want to feel good about ourselves, definitely not wanting trials and tribulations. We point fingers at a lot of prophets, bishops, apostles, etc. My point take responsibility for your own lack of prayer and seeking God. He talks to you all the time, you just aren't listening. Titles are meaningless. We all are ministers of God. Read your Bible, it says so. We need to understand that Jesus walked among the sinners, not the church goers. Every moment of everyday belongs to God and I am required to serve Him like that. When I gave my life to Jesus I agreed that that is the way it would always be. After over 50 years I can truthfully say, He has not ever disappointed me. I certainly have disappointed Him but He always lovingly showed me the error of my ways and brought me back. How can I not be so in love with my Savior and Lord? I don't follow apostles, bishops, prophets. I follow Jesus. I submit myself to local church authority but not controlling people. This keeps pride out of me. The church is community. We love everyone, we help everyone, we give not expecting anything back because God owns it all anyway. We sacrifice for righteousness and especially coming against abortion. That is why I voted for John McCain. Everything that is unrighteous is man's attempt to compensate for man's sinning against God.
So follow Jesus, walk in humility, serve one another, and be the salt that has power over the enemy.
God Bless!
Rick

Stephen,
I would like to know if Kim Clement was invited to these "conferences" you mentioned.
His prophetic track record is unparalled - I, too, am concerned about lack of communication between leaders. Many Christians are disappointed with y'all -- Personally, I would like to see unity in the apostolic and prophetic realm about what God is saying to us (you know, the Sheeple) As the scripture says, If the trumpet makes an unscertain sound - how do we know how to react (my paraphase).
For those of you out there who don't believe in apostle or prophets, you may want to consult with the scriptures once again.
In the midst of all this, let us remember - that Jesus said "I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it".

Two months ago, the Lord brought to my remembrance II Chronicles 7:13&14
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place."
I "sat" on this Word for about three weeks - wondering what I was to do with it. One Sunday morning, during morning church Bible study, I was reminded and prompted to share this Word. The believers politely nodded and did nothing with it. However, upon entering the sanctuary for morning worship, the screen in front of the church had this Scripture being projected and the pastor began to preach on it! Coincidence? Hardly! Something to provide wonder and amazement? Not at all! God had spoken and confirmed a Word to a "sleeping" church. How well someone put it in this blog - the church is "sleeping".
What is it going to take to awaken the church?
Where are the signs and the wonders Jesus said would follow believers?
Where are those disciples who will tarry in the Upper Room until the Holy Ghost manifests in the streets?
We are inundated with psychology - enticing words of man's wisdom - in the pulpits today rather than anointed Rhema Words from God!
*enticing - Greek: a primary verb; to convince (by argument, true or false); by analogy, to pacify or conciliate (by other fair means); reflexively or passively, to assent (to evidence or authority), to rely (by inward certainty):--agree, assure, believe, have confidence, be (wax) conflent, make friend, obey, persuade, trust, yield.
-Strong's Concordance: 3982 peiqw
peitho; pi'-tho
Even this article from Kim Daniels is absent the Power of God for it is a political commentary rather than an anointed Word. Pride is very evident in the ministry of Jesus Christ in America as well as in America herself! We know where pride leads to.
America and the world do not need healing and help - the Church does.
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

Alot of people in the church are missing God on this Obama issue. God doesn't just use Christians to bring change. God used Darius to bring change and help release the people of God from bondage. Obama won because it is God's timing for a black man to lead this nation. His Word is very clear: The first shall be last and the last shall be first. If Ms. Daniels was truly a prophet, she would see the prophetic being fulfilled in the Obamas. God cannot lie! Black people have sent up alot of prayers and have been wronged many times. God chose Mr. AND Mrs. Obama for a time such as this.
The only reason why these so-called apostles and prophets are grappling with the changes they see is because they are not fasting and praying and reading the Bible. Get with it people. Jesus is coming back soon!

Steve, with the greatest of respect, do you realize what a completely ridiculous your title is?
Apostles and Prophets GRAPPLE with What is Happening?
Are you serious?
Does not the Scripture say that surely the Lord does nothing except he first reveals it to his servants the PROPHETS?
Was it not Agabbus, the New Testament PROPHET who warned the apostolic church of a coming world-wide famine, so they could prepare with a common purse?
Was it not John the Apostle who brought the church God's prophetic word concerning last governments, rulers, persecution, and an prophetic word concerning the candlestick churches.
I am no prophet, and yet God revealed to me in a dream three years ago, before Obama was even a serious presidential candidate, that he would ascend as a prince among men.
At the time it seemed outrageously impossible. But knowing that God does not lie, I watched in amazement as this black man from Illinois beat the most powerful political couple in the country (the clintons) and won the nomination. I knew it was downhill from there. Despite John McCain whipping out Sarah Palin.
Ms Daniel's apostolic mantle notwithstanding, the sense of destiny on Obama's life was bigger than even Obama himself. I didn't vote for him, but a blind man could see it. And these prophets did not?
Steve, I have no desire to be disrespectful, but if these "apostles and prophets" are GRAPPLING with what is happening, they need to check whose table they are eating from, return to God in repentance, prayer and fasting, or seek a day job.
Prophets should go before. This lot seems as lost as goat in a rainstorm.

I for one am certainly glad the election is over. Heck, I canceled my Charisma subscription and the e-newsletters when I determined the flavor by which Strang magazines were taking.
I certainly for one will not congratulate Kim Daniels or endorse her comments. She's speaking from a double mind standpoint. I am glad that you have recognized that even if Hilliary won the nod, that most African-Americans would have still voted democratic.
I don't understand why we still have this focus on the election when we need to be concerned with where we are going. Just today, Bishop Jim Bolin is now entering a 2 year program of restoration for sexual impurity. You preachers are messing up people's lives and all you can talk about is what went wrong in an election?
I would same to Kim Daniels and the rest of the Charisma staff, J. Lee Grady and Steven Strang that it is now time to get on your faces for the church! This election showed us who were false prophets in the land. I loved seeing people say that John McCain was going to win this thing in a landslide. But he lost, oh what joy! Just what we need, another one who turned their backs in Christians.
I refused to vote for McCain on the basis that he refused to stand-up for us. And if you think selecting a pentecostal from Alaska, whose daughter was knocked up at the time of the election was going to energize the election, you are sadly mistaken. It really showed how out of touch that Strang magazines were with Christians.
So my message to Kim Daniels and her anti-Obama remarks are, where is the same judgment you used against him in McCain and Palin? But that is common.
Let me compare Kim Daniels and Strang magazines to the black guy who supports the flying of the confederate flag and the KKK. Charisma has found one person that agrees with them about the election and have used and exploited her to that degree. Just the same as the KKK and the black guy that supports the flying of the confederate flag. Just because you found one person to agree with you doesn't mean that you are right. That's all I am going to say on the matter.

God is not a man that he should lie nor is he a son of man that shall lie, if God said it. It shall come to past. God revealed himself a year before the election and told me who would be Presidedent and why. These are the word that was spoken to me that Obama would be the first black President and that he, was not a praying man, but when he entered into the office he would become a praying man and he would no longer allow a racist spirit to rule in America. Prophets in the bible did not say one thing and another thing happen. I have to tell you stop coming against the powers that be. your job is to pray for them, you are not God and to be honest your opinon is just that, so shut whinning and complaining and face the fact that God is in charge and he does whatever he wants to do!!!! It is sad when we try to force God through manipulative prayers and confessions many of you good ole Christians will face your results of talking about President Obama and not praying and the results that you will get will be a result of the seed that you put in the ground. It is amazing how you propha-lie and expect the body of Christ to take your words as truth. There is only one voice for this nation and it is the voice of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. See in God eyes sin is sin and you can't justify the fact that America has been in a moral decline within the church for years, let alone the non christians. A life matters to God wheter it was taken 4 sec ago or 400 years ago and trust me God has a lot to say about abortion and racisim. I will say this your job and my job is to pray for the man read your own bible and stop whining and complaining read your own bible( The Children of Isarel)and stop telling lies as prophesy God is revealing himself among the people, and the sad thing about it when we have more Men and Women in the five -fold calling divorcing and having all type of illict affair from the national and local level, all you can do is write a blog and bash the President, because you did not get who you thought should have been elected to office. Repent America is not in as much trouble as the Church and shut up and listen to God for a change and stop telling God so much of what you want and ask him what he wants.Write a blog on how to help Christians from the top to the bottom stop sining and start with yourself first. bottom line REPENT IT IS A SIN TO LIE

"But we trusted that it had been Palin which should had redeemed America: and beside all this, today is the third day since the elections." (NRV: New Republican Version) "When they therfore were come together, they asked him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore America back to God." (NRV: New Republican Version); (See: KJV: Luke 24:21 & Acts 1:6). The disciples of Jesus thought His coming was to restore their nation. In America countless Christians placed their hopes in Palin as God's answer to restore America, to usher in return America back to God. When Palin was selected ministries began annointing her as the "Deborah" or "Esther." False prophecies abounded to confirm their "Great White Hope." When their hopes were dashed by the Obama victory they became disillusioned and angry. Many continue to villify and demonize Obama. Christians in their longing for a Christian in the White House overlooked Palin's actions and shortcomings. After all she was against abortion and that's all that matters. For a Christian to mudsling in campaigning is worldy. Being a Christian politician does not exempt that person from acting like Jesus. (Eph. 4:31; Col. 3:8; James 1:20; 2 Tim. 2:24; Prov. 15:1; James 4:1-18; Gal. 5:19-22; 1 Cor. 13:1-13)
Paul did not say: "For I determined not to know any thing among you except the party platform." The apostles and prophets did not go around building the church by exhorting Christians to form block parties. Paul declared: "For I determined to not know anything among you, save, Jesus Christ and him crucified." (1 Cor. 2:2). The world was not turned upside down by getting Christians elected. God hates mixture and the church has mixed the message of the cross with politics. God also hates divorce. But I believe in this case God would welcome the church divorcing the Republican Party and Democratic Party. It's time the church returned to our first love (Jesus) and doing what He commissioned the church to do.

Furthermore, both Scripture and history show us that Godly changes in society are achieved from the bottom up – not from the top down. I appreciate the five fold ministry and the overseers God has given the church, but this is border-line idolatry.
The body of Christ has become a laughing stock, not because of the power of their word or their testimonies, but because of their lifestyles.
Instead of being "fools for Christ" we've become just plain fools.

America you shuld get down on your knees and thank God that at last you have a thinking preident - and perhaps the world has a chance of being a safer place.

What was the sin of Sodom...?
"Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy." Eze 16:49

I took time to read every post following the article. And I read some pretty intense stuff! But one comment that really stands out to me was :"My brothers and sisters - you are embracing and concerning yourselves with the wrong kind of power."
What a powerful and truly prophetic word for the american evangelicals! Many of these modern day 'so-called' prophets and apostles remind me of the false prophets of Ahab who prophesied victory for his upcoming battle. Only one prophet dared to reveal the unpopular truth. My Bible holds prophets to a very high standard; and I quote: "But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded him to say, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, must be put to death."
That comes straight from Duet. 18:20.
Thank God we're not under 'the Law' anymore!
You 'prophets and apostles' who prophesied the election going for Mccain/Palin spoke presumptiously. You didnt hear from God. My Bible tells me not to be afraid of you!
You missed the mark; you got it wrong! How can you say you are a prophet, yet cannot accurately prophesy an election? Nor can you 'see' the sins of those who you prayerfully endorse in revivals?
And how can I ever trust you to accurately speak a word to me again? As of right now your prophetic ability cannot be trusted. And thats a shame because the church in america desperately needs the true voice of God. I shake my head at you in shame. This was a humbling experience for this 'new' movement of apostles and prophets. May you go before God in true humility, and wait at his feet for a REAL word from on high.
By their fruits you will know them.

"I do not understand why ministers are saddened by others’ challenging Obama’s faith as a believer. He claims to be a Christian—so it is OK to line up his faith next to the Word of God. President Bush and all other leaders are subject to the same scrutiny, especially when they make it an issue in a political race."
But thats just the point: NO OTHER PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE HAS COME UNDER SUCH SCRUTINY FOR HIS CHURCH OR HIS FAITH!!! Come on now; let's be honest: what presidential candidate can you recall in past or modern history who has had their church affiliation placed on the front pages and screens of the news, for weeks on end? Looped endlessly on Youtube, Fox, ABC,CNN, ad nauseum?
When any other person says they are a christian, they're given the benefit of the doubt. People were still calling Obama a muslim and an Arab, even tho' they knew he attended a christian church for over 20 years!
It is dangerous to speak presumptiously on behalf of God. I like Kim Daniels, but she missed it on this one.
I have news for you evangelicals: GOD ISN'T A REPUBLICAN! NOR IS HE A DEMOCRAT!
God is GOD, and He will use whoever He chooses to use.
Where were these 'prophets and prophetesses' when Rev.Wright was being trashed in the media? Probably cheering on the media, in stead of rallying to the defense of a fellow pastor.
These evangelicals are 'salty' because a 'take from the rich, give to the poor' liberal is in office; and their million-dollar paychecks are about to be taxed to the limit!
It has little at all to do with a love for holiness. If it was about holiness, they would've spoken out equally as 'prophetically' about parading a pregnant unwed teen around the country before the eyes of adoring young girls. Yeah I'm talking about the Palin girl. What kind of message was that sending to our teens? She didn't have an emaculate conception! There was some obvious fornication going on there.Yet, not a mumbling peep from the 'religous right'.
Amazingly hypocritical and blind!

The silly statement in the above introduction to Kim about the “whispering among…blacks”…“yet…no one challenged her” and that she “had such authority it was as if no one would oppose her” - is the kind of statement one would expect to hear from children’s playground rather than mature and serious journalism…especially one that claims to be in the Spirit of Christ.

Too much politics, and too little about Jesus. That is the fundamental problem here.
After living in the US for 15 years and seeing several elections, these are my observations:
1. Politics and religion is an evil mix. It makes Christians vicious, hateful and evil in the way they express their sentiments about those whose political views differ from their own.
2. American Christians don't really believe that the Gospel of Jesus can change this nation, but put their faith in politicians to do so.
There are other things that I could say, but I'll leave it with this!

I have no confidence in this group, especially Che Ahn who I saw on video push someone down while praying for them. I would have confidence in Rick Joyner but for the choice of people he invites. So, they are of no account to me at all.

I am curious as to who appoints these so-called "apostles" and "prophets"; or is it so that they appoint themselves and start using these titles....?

As a student of history, I remember back in the day when we in the Church were taught that Jesus Kingdom was not of this world and we were to stay out of politics. As a result, prayer was taken out of schools, Our God's name was taken out of schools and Roe v Wade was passed. The giant liberal slide down hill was begun. .
Finally, we woke up, as we saw what was happening to our country/
Now we have become involved - not perfectly - but at least we have our blinders off.
This is our country, too - and we can affect real change -- so, instead of fighting, grumbling and disagreeing - let's find some good ground to meet on. Let's unify in prayer before God -- to make up some ground we lost sitting in our pews, doing nothing for all those years.
In ending. . I'm not sure where that doctrine of devils began that we were not to get involved in our governmental process - probably when that other big lie "the division of church and state" began - but our founding fathers certaining never believed that.
Let's rally around the flagpole --and certainly repent of our apathy and will see God continue to heal our land -- because I believe He has ---- Believe for this mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon our new president !!!
