A Historic Election
By Steve Strang
Congratulations to Barack Obama on his historic election as the first African-American president of the United States. I had the privilege of meeting him last June. He is a very likable person who seems reasonable. Let's pray that he governs from the center and not from the far left.
I supported Sen. John McCain mainly because of his stands on the pro-life issue and the issue of traditional marriage. To me these issues are more important than economic concerns, immigration problems, environmental policy and so on. I believe reasonable people can disagree on those subjects, but there are a few fundamental issues that we as believers must have strong convictions about.
Otherwise, however, I was a reluctant supporter of McCain. I didn't understand the purpose of many of his policies or why he seemed so distant from conservative Christians. It wasn't until he named Sarah Palin as his running mate that his candidacy excited conservative Christians like me.
The Bible tells us to pray for those in authority. We have an opportunity now to live out our faith by praying for our new president. Pray that he will have a change of heart on many of the foundational issues. My colleague Lee Grady sent out an article today titled "10 Ways to Pray for Barack Obama," which you can read by clicking here.
We have seen some former presidents change while they were in office, rise to the occasion and become great leaders. We have also survived liberal and mediocre presidents who didn't, such as Lyndon Johnson and Jimmy Carter.
And we have seen in the last year that having a self-professed "evangelical Christian" in the White House may have helped a little, but it did not do a lot to change the moral character of our country. In fact, though I personally admire President Bush and thank God for his strong leadership on the war against terror, I, like many Americans, have been disappointed in him in many ways. Undoubtedly his unpopularity contributed to McCain's defeat.
This year, with everything that's happening politically, it would have been difficult, if not impossible, for any Republican to beat almost any Democrat. I have no doubt that Hillary Clinton would have won over Mitt Romney--or Mike Huckabee, whom I supported. People in America obviously want a change. The scary thing for those of us who believe the Bible and want conservative values is that the change may move the country too far to the left politically and morally.
Thankfully the marriage amendments that were on the ballots in Arizona, Florida and California all passed. Here in Florida a proposed amendment to the state constitution must receive 60 percent of the vote to pass--which is the highest percentage requirement in the nation. These amendments were clearly based on a moral issue—the definition of marriage as the union of a man and a woman--and we can thank God our prayers were answered. I think the fact that all three amendments passed shows that voters just want a change in the White House rather than that our country as a whole is shifting toward the left.
African-Americans can be proud of this historic moment. As I have written before, I think it's time for an African-American to be in the White House. I have worked hard for racial reconciliation throughout my entire adult life, and I will continue to do so.
I regret that in the heat of the political battle some who read my Strang Report felt I was insensitive to the feelings of African-Americans. I regret using the unfortunate term "so-called Christians" when speaking of those who disagree with me. I apologize to anyone I offended.
At the very longest, Obama will be president for only eight years. At the end of his term or terms in office, those of us who believe in Christ will still be brothers and sisters in Christ regardless of who is leading our country and what policies are in place.
I hope this election is a wake-up call for the body of Christ. Though "conservative Christians" did play a part in the political process, often those who get involved are people who are simply conservative politically--not necessarily born again. In fact, many of the activists are so strident in their views that they do not help the cause of Christ.
We really need to see people changing in this country on a personal level. You and I may not influence the halls of Congress, but we do influence people in our families, our workplaces and our churches.
I'm concerned about some of the prophecies that came out during this election. Earlier this year several "well-known" prophets were predicting that Rudy Giuliani would be president. More recently several were predicting, although quietly, that McCain would win against all odds, as Harry Truman did in 1948. I received an e-mail a few hours after the election from one who had issued such a prophecy, apologizing for the error and saying he is going to take a time of reflection to pray about what God is saying.
I recognize that all prophets "see through a glass darkly," and it's human nature to project upon the Almighty the things we want. Maybe it's also human nature to have "wishful thinking." But when we confuse it with hearing from the Lord, it's not good.
I have been amazed at the number of responses I've received to the Strang Report, especially to some of the things I have "cut and pasted" from other sources. This morning I received quite a few e-mails that I thought would interest you. One is "Understanding the Psychology of Post-Election Distress Syndrome" by Dwight Bain, a nationally certified counselor whom I have known for several years. You can read his article below.
My friend Mat Staver, who was very active in helping to get the marriage amendment passed in Florida, issued a press release sharing his values on rebuilding the base and advancing conservative values. Click here to read his comments. He believes the passage of all three marriage amendments shows that conservative values still matter.
James Pinkerton, whom I enjoy watching on Fox News, wrote a short but insightful analysis of why McCain lost, which seemed to ring true as I read it. Click here to read the analysis.
Finally, former Gov. Mike Huckabee of Arkansas, whom I supported strongly during the primaries, sent out an e-mail titled "We Will Be Back In Strength." Click here to read his comments, which include the following: "Politics is not an event but a process. Sometimes we lose the events, but it never gives the right to stop being faithful to our principles that enlisted us in the process. We shall live to fight another day."
As always, we welcome your comments on the blog. Please forward this to your family and friends, and ask them to sign up for the Strang Report.
Understanding the Psychology of Post-Election Distress Syndrome
A major election leads to major change—psychologically, that is. No matter who wins an election, the unexpected emotional let down or explosive reaction after the ballots are counted can be overwhelming to many, especially the aged or over-involved who can be set up for crushing amounts of what I call P.E.D.S. or Post-Election Distress Syndrome.
This election has likely been the most stressful of any during our lifetime because of numbing news fatigue and continual media over-exposure, yet the real problems are yet to come. Personal anxiety, professional panic and poorly thought out decisions are on the horizon regardless of your political persuasion.
Why such a gloomy projection?
It's based on how this election process has been so overwhelming much of the time with months of negative news, never ending data to process and confusing choices to make on complex issues while partisan experts are shouting every half-hour on news/talk stations that we are all doomed if their candidate doesn't win. Not to mention the huge challenge on who is trust-worthy, since you often don't know who will say something inappropriate on YouTube and crash their credibility, leaving you feeling very alone to make some major decisions without leaders who lacked the strength of character to stand on their convictions instead of popular opinion polls.
Mountain top experiences guarantee the next step is always the valley
Think of a major campaign like climbing a major mountain range. You prepare for years and climb for months to finally reach the top. Once there the view is great. You take some pictures, but you can't stay on a mountain top, so no matter which way you head, it's down in any direction. After the mountain top comes the valley, which is a normal part of life. The danger is that for many people the downward slide is so unexpected. Most actual mountain climbing accidents happen on the way down, and I project that there will be millions of people who are unprepared for the emotional upheaval they are about to experience after the election is over.
Everyone will feel some degree of emotional let down once the issues have been decided and the acceptance speeches are given. That's normal, however for some the removal of posters, signs, balloons and banners will lead to a free fall of depressing emotions. If someone has been a 'news junkie' the last few months it will be especially stressful. Those feelings of distress will come out in one of two ways.
Two possible reactions to post-election distress
1) Anger –
Which can lead to violence and impulsive decisions. People who feel violated by the election process will often turn to dumping volcanic levels of anger at someone or something to find relief for the pressure inside. This can lead to devastating decisions, impulsive rage or using the wrong words in front of the wrong people and losing credibility or worse a job. This can happen in men or women, young or old, but is most commonly seen in more extroverted personalities and it tends to blow up and blow out fast.
2) Apathy –
This is a more dangerous reaction, since it can lead from distress to the early stages of depression. Stuffing emotions inside is like burying them alive and they just keep building up, yet instead of blowing up and out, they blow in. This leads a person to feel emotionally numb, and often can cause an individual to commit a series of very quiet, yet very harmful self-destructive acts. Eating for comfort, drinking to numb the pain, hooking up with the wrong partner to try and forget about the election or just refusing to answer the phone, closing the mini-blinds and checking out on life like a hermit hiding in a dark cave.
The best choice after an election is completed is Acceptance. It's over and now it's time to move on with whatever leaders and issues the majority of voters selected. You can't change the outcome of an election, but you can freak yourself out with fears about the future apocalypse predicted by many. Don't do that! Life will go on, and your world will continue. God is bigger than any politician and isn't in a panic, so trust in heaven's agenda and not that of Washington and you'll immediately find a deeper level of peace.
What happens in your house is way more important than what happens in the White House since you can't control what political leaders do, but you can control you. Let this journey off of the political 'mountain' be one of a growing sense of perspective as you remember that after the valley there will be another mountain to climb. There will be another day to vote on national issues and when the dust settles your life will usually be about as good as you choose to make it. This approach takes the power to control your mood away from the politicians or the media, so you can build a better life without losing sleep or energy from the dangers of post-election distress syndrome.

Steve,
Thanks for posting this irenic post. And thanks for sticking your neck out --- both your personal reputation and your high-profile publishing enterprise --- for the cause of righteousness.
I admire that you have stood silently, but resolutely, as some have sadly chosen to cast your political support of McCain as racial animous toward Obama.
As a long-time reader of New Man and Charisma, I know that you have worked hard to promote racial harmony, reconciliation and healing.
I did NOT agree with your endorsement of Pastor Keith Butler, but stands in stark contrast to the charge that you are racist.
I pray that we can get this ugly election season behind us quickly. Folks like you waged a good, but unsuccessful fight, and now are ready lead as we marshall our prayer effort behind our president-elect.
Thanks for not striking back against your accusers. It would have only made things worse.
As Sean Hannity would say, "You are a Great American."
Your far-off friend,
Brad
P. S. Special thanks for being forthright enough to mention those who missed it prophetically on this election. We need more accountability like this.

Thanks Steve for being thoughtful and clear on why you voted for John McCain and Sarah Palin instead of Barack Obama. For most of us it was actually a very easy vote for McCain over Obama. The biblical issues have to outweigh any other position we may have or we cannot truly call ourselves Christians. I do take exception to the term "African-American" because I believe that is a oxymoron, your either an American or your not. Fact is Mr. Obama is as much or more white than black. Anyway, I have never voted on the basis of color or gender but for the best qualified and the candidate who most aligns with the bible which was overwhelmingly Senator McCain. Could we have had better choices....definitely. Thanks again for taking the correct and biblical stance in this election and we will continue to pray for you, your family and your magazines.

Steve,
I very much hope your apology to the individuals you described as "so-called" Christians is sincere. It would have been better to say you were completely wrong in the insinuation, and not just sorry it offended people. I also think its funny that you are now "concerned" about the prophecies of a McCain win, since you yourself supported some of them. Instead of showing "concern," you should also apologize to your readers for supporting these so-called prophetic words.
Additionally, please don't try to distance yourself from your strong support for McCain now that he has lost. 24 hours ago, in your opinon he was "God's choice" and "God's Man," and given the defeat he is now a candidate you reluctantly supported? Please Steve, we are not that gullible. Have the courage to own up to it. What happend to Palin being the Esther coming through the back door? Will you own up to that big miss also?
It is clear that Barck Hussein Obama was and is God's, the God of Israel's, choice in this election over John Mccain. And yes, I used his middle name. It is nothing to be afraid of. HUSSEIN. It takes a very immature mind to demonize or fear Obama because he has an Arabic middle name. Barack Obama is a fellow brother in Christ, who has been very open about his faith in Jesus, and should have our support as fellow Christians.
It is time for Conservative and Evangelicals to go through a time of deep introspection. Listen folks, God chose Barack and raised him up for such a time as this. God has anointed him with the heavely gift of leadership. I realize most people who read Charisma are Charismatic/Pentecostal and tend to feel Believers outside of their camps (Baptist, Presbyterian, Methodist, etc.) are white washed tombs, apathetic, dead, fake Christians, or apostates unknowingly going to hell. This attitude is clearly silly. It's time to mature, stop the shenanigans, and start being the Body of Christ that has respect for all of it's parts, not just the one's that are Charismatic.

I know Charisma stands behind a lot of strange stuff, but this is outrageous.

"Maturing" as Christians would also mean Christians applying Biblical standards to whom we choose as our President, including not abandoning over 1 million innocent babies a year.
Also, be careful about saying "God's choice." Under such a broad approach (whoever wins is God's choice), God chose Hitler also.
Let's pray for our President, including our current President, and Obama, as we are commanded in scripture; but let us not start ascribing any political results to God. Sometimes, he lets us make our own bad decisions and suffer the consequences.

KS,
Please shut up. If McCain had won the God's Choice comments would be everywhere. We all know God sets leaders into position and especially with the enourmous amount of prayer, fasting, etc. that we have seen taking place from all over the Body of Christ for this election, we should be confident that God made His choice. God either made His choice, or ignored the prayer and fasting. I am confident that God has raised Barack Obama up for such a time as this, and has anointed him to gather so many millions in support of positive change. President Elect Obama is an inspirational leader and an outstanding American. God bless America.

IF the Christian Church had heard correctly to pary for McCain and against Obama's election; they mUST be out of sync with the Lord!! as they did in Florida 4 years ago.. for God puts all authority in place:
1 Tim 2: urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3This is good, and pleases God our Savior,
John 17:2
"Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him.

First let me say how much I appreciate Steven Strang and his ministry. Clearly God raised him up and gave him a voice to speak to many people. My own personal convictions about how and why Obama won the Presidency is simply this: It is the spiritual temperature of our nation. Why would God EVER have Christians support someone who UNASHAMEDLY states that he believes in the murder of the preborn and homosexual marriage? We either vote after the flesh or after the spirit. I saw a whole lot of flesh slinging round! When the Israelites came to Samuel (1 Samuel 8)and demanded a King, here is what the scriptures said happened.
6 But it displeased Samuel when they said, Give us a king to govern us. And Samuel prayed to the Lord.
7 And the Lord said to Samuel, Hearken to the voice of the people in all they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not be King over them.
8 According to all the works which they have done since I brought them up out of Egypt even to this day, forsaking Me and serving other gods, so they also do to you.
9 So listen now to their voice; only solemnly warn them and show them the ways of the king who shall reign over them.
Guess what? The King they wanted was wicked, oppressive and every other evil thing. And God told them that and they STILL wanted the King! See any similarities here? I pray that those who elevated personal gain and race over righteousness will truly search His word and put His things first. All I hear is a sense of justification and empowerment. Sin is sin is sin is sin. Amen.

I did not vote for Obama. In fact, to be perfectly honest, I have a difficult time liking Obama.
BUT, that does not keep me from seeing that facts as they are.
Anonymous at 4:48 p.m. is mistaken when he/she says that Obama "believes in the murder of the preborn and homosexual marriage".
Friend, neither of those is true. You sound like the woman who told McCain at his rally that Obama was an Arab.
Obama has stated MANY times that he is saddened by abortion and believes we must work to reduce the number of abortions in our country.
And he doesn't support gay marriage --- ask MSNBC's Rachel Maddow. A lesbian, she is disappointed that Obama does NOT support gay marriage.
Please do not take this in the wrong way, but I find it very concerning that you could believe these two assertions after all these months of Obama's positions being examined.
Please do NOT repeat your errors. Please.
There ARE reasons to oppose Obama. The two you state are off the mark.
I state it that way because I know that Obama's legislative record can be interpreted as his being in agreement with abortion. His beliefs about the legality of abortion are the opposite of mine. But he does NOT "believe in the murder of the preborn."

HAHAHAH! Trying to use the story King Saul as an illustration for this election is supremly funny, and shows that whom ever made the post must have a hard time understanding the Bible. My questions for the poster: what does this story have to do with a modern democartic election where every election cycle local, state, and national we vote for various initiative and leaders? Was Saul even elected king? Did the people even choose Saul from a pool of candidates? No there is no similarity. So if in this persons twisted mind if Obama is Saul, then McCain must be David. Do you guys remember when Bush was supposed to be God's Man and savior of America with all of the Biblical passages to explain why. Guys, please. Enough of the Biblical allusions. Enough of this crap.

Mr. Strang: you predicted that "life as we know it" would end if Sen. Obama was elected. We are still here. Bishop T.D. Jakes spoke eloquently about the significance of this election last night. Perhaps the church can now focus away from the lawyer encouraged litigation and counterproductive condemnation andtowards real action to reduce abortion and the conditions which encourage it.

Mr. Strang,
Your words and apology are ringing very hollow to my ears especially after all the hate, discord, and inuendos you and Mr. Grady stirred up with your "anointings" of Sarah, publishing prophecies unquestionably, vilifying President Elect Obama, and blattant printing of lies you should have known where divisive and untrue. You both have caused those on the far right supporting ONLY two issues ferventingly to speak in hate towards any brother or sister who doesn't believe like they and you do. This was evident in McCain's campaign especially after Sarah came along and you all anointed her. I just couldn't understand how the "anointed one", as you allowed to be published about her, could be such a liar and you all saw NOTHING wrong with that but cheered her on and supported that behavior. Even when the hate mongers began to speak of killing Obama, "the anointed one" just kept on spewing her venom not caring about the implications to his wife and those two beautiful little girls who could have lost him by the hands of one of your and her loyalist. This type of hypocrisy I saw in the church by way of these reports and your magazine tore at my heart and caused me, a born again, 55 year old life long Republican to switch parties and work diligently to see Obama/Biden elected. If this was the way this party was going, it had stopped speaking for me. I couldn't stomach it any longer. You
both published fear. What I have come to be concerned about is a church that has acted so badly during this campaign by way of the Republican Party. Yet, you demonized, foreignized, unchristianized, socialized, unpatriotized a man who has been a class act and presented more characteristics of what a christian should act like during a campaign. Sarah sold her soul and used her tongue as a weapon. I couldn't identify the christian part of her anywhere, anytime. If something had happened to Obama, and I thank God the attempts were foiled, You, Mr. Strang, Mr. Grady,
Sarah Palin, and John McCain would be guilty as sin even though you may not have been on the scene. Your weapons: The good christians who listen to the like of Rush Limbaugh and believed you both and the "anionted one". Neither of you may be racists, but you created an atmosphere where those fringe followers of yours do what they think God wants them to do because of the things you have published and/or said. Yes, we should pray for our new leaders and for the church. I thank God for all the White, Latino, American Indian, Asian, Women, Black, young, old,
gay, straight, veterans, disabled, Muslims, Jews, Catholics, and any other group who propelled the President Elect into office. Black people couldn't have done it alone. Everybody, wanting a better America that UNITES NOT DIVIDES US did it. Isn't that suppose to be the goal of the church? Oh, yes, Mr. Strang, your apology now rings quite hollow in my ears. After my subscription is up, I will not be renewing this magazine. dm

Based on the comments and antagonism toward each other on this blog, I think we are a long way from getting to the point of reconiliation with one another after this election. A house divided against itself will not stand.
As Christans we are not going to agree on everything but there's no reason to spew hate at the future leader of our country. The unsaved are watching us and they read these blogs too.
As for me I will be praying for President-Elect Oboma and that God will protect him and his family and give him wisdom.
God is big enough that he doesn't need me to fight His battles. He knows the end of all things and I am going to trust Him.

Free and Fair Elections are decided in many cases by votes of people who are not necessarily born-again believers led by the Spirit of God. If they (unbelievers) are in majority, they may win and that does not in any way mean that God chose the leader. God would allow the choice of the people but His principles and truth will triumph and the nation that forgets Him (God) will pay the price - see Psalm 9:17-20.
It is our duty, therefore, to intercede for this nation, preach the gospel of the kingdon and disciple the nations that have assembled in the US.
BUT GOD IS IN FULL CONTROL AND WOULD USE EVERY SITUATION FOR HIS PURPOSE AS LONG AS HIS PEOPLE WHO ARE ON THE EARTH HUMBLE THEMSELVES AND CALL ON HIM FOR HIS PURPOSES AND HIS WILL TO MANIFEST ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.
JESUS CHRIST LOST THE ONLY ELECTION ON HIS LIFE, THE MASSES IN ISRAEL (INFLUENCED BY THE RELIGOUS RULERS) VOTED FOR A CONDEMNED ROBBER - BARRABAS. God still used the verdict to redeem all mankind who put their trust in the shed blood of Jesus Christ from that verdict.
We are to display the love of God to save all who can be saved and disciple them. We are to pray for President-elect Obama that he is compelled to lead by the Holy Spirit. With God nothing is impossible.

Obama ran the most intelligent, well planned political campaign in the history of the United States. His campaign and charisma broke records across so many areas it's staggering. Please, let's stop fooling ourselves that it was Bush's low popularity or the economy that got Obama here. If that were the case, there were plenty of other better known, well connected, and well funded individuals that fell to the wayside. The fact is Obama was/is harder working, more intelligent, more resourceful, and simply better than his opponents.
Despite his initial and HUGE obsticals of being unknown, having very little money, having few connections, and potential issues of race, he prevailed. He did not just prevail in a small way. He trounced his opponents, he trounced John McCain. He beat him in the popular vote by 7.5 million votes or 7%. Obama was simply better and the American people recognized it. It may hurt, or not mesh with some of your world views to hear this, but it's true. The reality is, it is God's will that Barack Obama is the President Elect and not the other candidate. McCain may have been your will, but he was not God's will. Now let's begin to support or upcoming president and make our country better.

"Pastor" Charles,
Jesus did not lose an election with a vote for Barabbas. Not even close. This was a prophetic picture of the scapegoat, the twin goats of the OT where one was sacraficed as a sin offering the other was set free in the wilderness. Jesus was the son of God, Barabbas' name mean "son of the father" Bar = sun; Abba = father. One sacrificed. One set free.
I really hope you are not preaching this election stuff in your church to prove McCain was God's choice and somehow Barack the choice of a corrupt system. If you are that is pretty disgusting and your command of the Scriptures is pretty weak. Please stop.

I'm grew tired of your verbage, so I quit reading. I do not and will not support the one. He is not annointed by God, he was elected by Godless people whom God gives freewill. He does support abortion. Obviously you have not looked at either he record in the Illinois State Senate or the United State Senate. He also supports the infanticide (babies born alive due to botched abortions). As a Christian, I find this offensive, and no he does not have my support. I do, however agree that I don't understand the support of Mr. Strang for Dr. Mark Arnold, who I also believed, but whose email addresses now do not work, nor does Jim Bramlett who he sent an urgent prayer request. I would really like answers to what was going on with that.

JP, how about you quit pretending you are a presidential historian like David McCulloch, Doris Kearns Goodwin, Michael Beschloss, or Douglas Brinkley? (Sad thing is, you don't even know who those people are, much less the presidents they studied intensively).
Why don't you tell us a little about the campaign of William McKinley? Hmmmm. Don't know too much about that? What about Millard Fillmore's? What were the issues he ran on? What states did he target for campaign visits and why? Nothing there, either? Well, okay, just tell us about Jimmy Carter's campaign. What made it so inferior to Barack's? What was the Carter campaign's budget? Did he use direct mail? Did he use Robo calls?
Truth us, you don't know about other campaigns in history, so your comparative statement is meaningless.

I pray for President elect Obama and his family as many Christians do. I was horrified to read your slanderous
articles about Senator Obama being a muslim,a terrorist, getting experience
to become a African president, not a christian,etc.... You used your position to attempt to destroy a man.
What is your definition of "Pro-Life"
would you not be better saying abortion? You are not only a liar but a murderer is that christian? The power of life and death is in the tongue. We have gone through horrific times, fighting a war that was based on a lie, losing young men and women for what? Being
in debt as a nation for people who have their own money. Having to borrow money to "give to" Wall Street. Yet you support this man. Sen McCain is a war hero yet he left his first wife because she had been in a accident, the mother of his children, did not support bills to help returning vets, ran a vicious campagin, selected Gov Palin whose pastor said Blacks have tails and to vote for one is
a sin. Please Mr Strang be honest, tell the truth and shame satan. Can you? Will you? YES YOU CAN. You expressed no true sorrow for what you have done and said only that you have gotten caught. Ask your Counselor about that.GOD is Spirit and those who worship HIM must Worship HIM in Spirit and Truth. Marriage is between a man and a woman Sen Obama never said he believed in it.
I stop because this changes nothing
just hope others will see it and you will be honest.

God Has Spoken said...
Steve,
I am glad you chose to issue an apology. Our God is always faithful, and I am thankful that we have a professing Christian assuming the office of the President. Barack Obama is God’s man for this season and He was faithful to protect the reputation of President Elect Obama every step of the way. No matter what slanderous words were hurled at him God guarded over His word and no weapon formed against him prospered. No manner what nature of lie or false accusation was used in an attempt to tarnish his character, every tongue that rose against him was condemned.
Obama was a long shot from the start, but the he remained humble and did not hurl recriminations and accusations back at those who wished to slander him, and the Lord raised him up in due time, as the Scriptures promise. He ran a clean and honorable race, always speaking well of the accomplishments of his opponents, while highlighting where he believed they fell short. He did not take taxpayer money, nor large dollar amounts from interests with deep pockets, but made the decision to run his race on the small donations of the regular Americans that supported him. He was rewarded well.
He spoke a message of hope and change in a generation of deep cynicism. He sounded a call to action for the young, when many thought we were disconnected and apathetic. He went against liberal values and thought and talked openly about his belief in deep parental involvement, abstinence, and the sanctity of sexuality. He clearly stated his position, that he did not believe in gay marriage, but at the same time did not believe individuals involved in that lifestyle should be oppressed or ostracized. And all this compacted into one succinct message, one story line, resonated with the American people.
God guarded this man and raised up a very unlikely candidate from obscurity and against seemingly insurmountable odds. With this unlikely candidate, past records were broken again and again, and we saw amazing thing occur in the campaign that we have never seen before. A generation was awakened and re-energized, the international community and Americas aligns celebrated the victory with us, and history was made. This is a great chapter in the story of America. We should be proud at this moment and continually lift up President Barack Obama and his family in prayer… God’s choice for this hour.

Obama is brilliant hands down, and obviously could not have run this historic campaign, against daunting odds, without God’s assistance. Especially with so many Charismatics, Pentecostals, Dobson drones, and fringe Evangelicals fasting and praying for his demise. THANK YOU God for ignoring those prayers!
His campaign and his message steamrolled the best, the brightest, the better funded, and the most likely picks, and he did not have to get nasty or use underhanded tricks to succeed. When the Republicans could find no dirty laundry in his own closet, no corruption, they tried to tie him to everyone and their mother that had a sordid past. They even tried to fool people into believing it was some sort of character flaw to have the middle name Hussein, and that a professing Christian who openly speaks about his personal faith in Jesus Christ was really a secret angry Muslim.
To bad for the Republicans/Conservatives the American people and thinking Christians are much smarter than that. We won’t fall into the hands of guilt by association, being afraid of the name Hussein, or slanderous lies. Well… most of us are smarter than that. There were still thousands of dummies at McCain/Palin rallies that fell for this bull pucky, hook line and sinker. Even when McCain himself was correcting the misguided regarding Obama being a Muslim or an Arab they somehow still could not come to terms with reality. They just didn’t get it.
Geez people, please, please try to grasp reality. Stop living in self imposed ignorance. Use the good sense and logic the Good Lord gave you. It’s time to get out of dark ages thinking and move into the 21st century. The world is blossoming and Christ is coming back for a Bride WITHOUT SPOT OR WRINKLE. Not a short-sighted, narrow visioned, ill informed, rabble.
P.S. stop drinking the Kool-Aid

Here is the problem:
We have Christians who are exhorting one another to stand firm in their faith living under the upcoming administration, and all it stands for. While others are actually praising this rascal.
Of Course, we pray for our leaders, put not to empower them to do evil, but fall on their knees in repentance before the Living God.

THE CHANGE THAT WE ARE SEEING IS SO DIFFERENT THAT EVEN OUR "LEADERS" HAVE MISSED IT BECAUSE THEIR PERSPECTIVE HAVE BEEN SKEWED, IT SHOWS THEY ARE NOT PERFECT. THESE ARE THE FACTS:
1. OBAMA HAS BEEN JUDGED & VILIFIED MORE HARSHLY - BY THE CHURCH THAN McCAIN- YET GOD HAS "PERMITTED" HIS ELECTIONTO THE HIGHEST OFFICE IN THE WORLD
2.OBAMA'S VIEWS ON ABORTION HAS BEEN MISREAD AND MISUNDERSTOOD INTENTIONALLY.
3. CHRISTIANS PROPHETS HAVE SHOW SO MUCH ARROGANCE AND PROHESIED ACCORDING TO THEIR HEART'S DESIRES.
4. GOD IS EXPOSING SOME OF OUR PROPHETS' HEARTS AND ASKING THEM TO SEEK HIM WITH UNBIASED MINDS
5. ALL THOSE WHO PURPORT TO SPEAK ON GOD'S BEHALF NOW REALISE THAT HE REALLY REQUIRES NO SPOKESPERSON, HE IS MORE THAN COMPETENT OF SPEAKING FOR HIMSELF
6. THE REPUBLICAN PART THROUGH THIS ELECTION (INCLUDING SARAH PALIN) DID A LOT OF UN-CHRISTIAN THINGS WHICH IN NO WAY GLORIFIES CHRIST & THE TIME HAS COME FOR THE CHURCH TO RE-CONSIDER ITS POSITION WITH THAT PARTY- ITS A DISGRACE AND MANY WELL MEANING CHRISTIANS OUT THERE ARE ASHAMED OF THIS ASSOCIATION AND SOME OF OUR LEADERS WHO SPOKE FOR/WITH THEM.
7. CHRISTIANS WERE ASKED TO PRAY AND FAST FOR DAYS BY APOSTLES & PROHETS FOR GOD TO PUT HIS CHOICE IN THE WHITE HOUSE (I.E. PREVENT OBAMA FROM BECOMING PRESIDENT? NOW WHAT?? HAS GOD SPOKEN? BECAUSE WE ALL PRAYED & FASTED HARD- PLEASE DO NOT SAY IT IS THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE, WE DID PRAY!!
8. OUR LEADERS ARE NOW COMPARING OBAMA TO KING SAUL, SO THAT MAKES JOIN MCCAIN OR PALIN KING DAVID?? INTERESTING.
9. SOME OF OUR LEADERS ARE SAYING THEY SUPPORTED MCCAIN BECAUSE OF PALIN, WHY?? THEY WISHING FOR HIM TO DIE IN OFFICE SO SHE COULD TAKE OVER? SHE WAS UNQUALIFIED IN MANY RESPECTS- JUST LIKE MANY CHRISTIAN THINK THAT ALL THEY NEED IS GOD ON THEIR SIDE WITHOUT ACTUALLY PREPARING THEMSELVES.
10. OUR LEADERS DO NOT SEEM TO REALISE THAT EVEN GOD IS TIRED OF UNDER-PERFORMIMNG CHRISTIANS IN THE WHITE HOUSE- HE NEEDS SMART, SEASONED GOD FEARING BELIEVERS WHO KNOW THEIR STUFF LIKE BEZALEEL & AHOLIAB IN EXODUS 36:1 . THAT IS WHY GOD RAISED UP THE LIKES OF MOSES, DANIEL & JOSEPH WHERE THEY WERE TRAINED BUT NOT OVERLY INFLUENCED BY THEIR SOCIETIES.
11. WE AS CHRISTIANS HAVE RAISED OURSELVES UP AS THE "KNOW IT ALL" BECAUSE WE KNOW GOD & SPEAK IN TONGUES ETC, AND THIS IS A HUMBLING MOMENT FOR ALL OF US, A LOT OF SOULD SEARCHING IS REQUIRED, GOD HAS CHANGED OUR AGENDA FOR 2009 WITH THIS ELECTION AND WE WILL TREAD MORE CAREFULLY.
12. FINALLY, IT IS NOT ALL CLEAR WHY GOD HAS RAISED UP OBAMA (ONLY GOD CAN GET A PERSON OF COLOUR INTO THE WHITE HOUSE) IS FOR GOOD OR OTHERWISE??? WE ARE ALL WATCHING LIKE STUDENTS SEEING THE GREAT I AM, TEH ANCIENT OF DAYS AT WORK, HE OUT SMARTED THE DEVIL WHEN HE SENT HIS SON, HE'S ABOUT TO DO IT AGAIN!
STAY HUMBLE FOLKS!

We may not agree on all things but I feel it is important to remember that we are brothers and sisters in Christ and we can have our disagreements, however , we must avoid becoming disagreeable in our encounters with one other and continue in the love of Christ. I believe we have left this factor out andf we become disagreeable and missed the opportunities of healing and reconciliation. I pray this commentary will be given wider exposure throughout our nation in all all communities.

Lila,
I'm with you. Jesus had both extremes of the political spectrum represented in his disciples (Simon the Zealot and Matthew the tax collector) and didn't comment on either. The kingdom of God is concerned about loving ALL people regardless of their political views. Why can't we (the church) Love everyone as Jesus has asked and demonstrated so beautifully? Jesus is our hope not a political party or a president. Please, brothers and sisters, Love your neighbors regardless of their political stripe.

I couldn't agree more. Someone else said that a house divided against itself can not stand. Right!
Listen, why in the world would we expect anyone to come to Jesus based on our example??? When we spend all of our time either shining our armor or fighting with each other, why would this attract anyone to what we have to share?
If we could only come together as Christian brothers and sisters, our Jesus would sure be a whole lot more attractive to the world of people who need him so badly.
Our problem? So many of us are not being Christ-like. We're just being religious.
May God swiftly kick us all in the seat of the pants.

RIGHTEOUS FIRST, BLACK LATER...(Message sent to African-Americans from an African-American)
DO READ AND CONSIDER THIS...
What a wonderful day to see and behold. Election day, a black man crowned executive chief of the United States. Whether you are for his policies or against his policies, if you are black, you can't deny that there was a sense of accomplishment that we all could share in. It makes us feel that no level in this land is unreachable because of color. It proves to many that if we desire it, we can achieve it. It all looks and feels very good to any black person and it should. But there is much to be considered that comes with an accomplishment like this. When the celebration stops, we still have to deal with us and the mess that we have created in our communities.
Have we progressed as a people or did we just progress in the eyes of people? This landmark election event may have put us at the top for a minute, but the fact still remains, we have a long way to go. Now, we as a people must stand on our own 2 feet and make it regardless of racial barriers because Barack is proof that if you have what people want, your skin color doesn't matter. But I want us to examine this and understand that this election may have put one of us in office, but our families are still being destroy because of immorality. We can chant blackness, throw up Barack hand signs, and be proud as we wanna be, but after the party is over, we are still 11 percent of the population and have the highest HIV death rate, murder rate, high school drop out rate, teen pregnancy rate, incarceration rate, abortion rate, etc. We have issues in our communities that many are looking for Barack to fix, but Barack is for some of the very things that are destroying us as a people. 1400 abortions everyday among blacks. Black women can't find good men because of homosexuality in the black community. We don't have the numbers that whites have so when our men turn gay, we lose fathers and husbands at an alarming rate. Add 1 million black men in the prison system and you have a lesbian firestorm in our communities because of the lack of good black men! And remember, Barack went to a church for 20 years that is gay friendly and even traveled with a gay pastor during his campaign earlier this year. This is why we should never look to the President for those kinds of things to be fixed. He is not God, he is a man. God is the only one that can intervene and fix this mess that we are in as a people.
Please people, do me a favor. Study the bible and get a good understanding of God's men. Understand who God supported in the bible and who he denounced. Understand who he was for and who he was against. You will see a pattern that is undeniable. When men killed the unborn or promoted homosexuality, did God use them? Has he ever? Why do we think that God is moving upon us as a people because we have a black president? Now understand, I'm proud of us as a race too, but I don't want us to jump in and drown just because we are in the big house now. I want you to take a good look at the bible and a good look at Obama's policies. Do they line up and should we put our faith in him?
We can be happy, but we still have an obligation to do better as a people. I see folks with grillz in their mouths chanting Obama. I see women with 6 kids by 7 different men, looking for their next baby daddy chanting Obama. I see preachers that are gay in secret and married in public chanting Obama. I see pastors that are sexually active with their own members chanting Obama! I see a nation of folks that are making very bad decisions in life walking around chanting Obama. The only thing these folks I'm talking about have in common with Barack is skin color and I'm sorry, but that's not enough to heal our communities. The bible says that "If my people, which are called by my name would humble themselves, pray, seek and then turn from their wicked ways...." He was not talking about an election people, that is a command to turn from your wicked ways. We can have an all Black White House and it will not stop the consequences of immorality! There is a price to be paid for sin and we cannot sit back and wait for Obama to pay it for us. Our people are perishing and we must do something quick or we will have a black president, but no black citizens!
Wake up America. Obama may look like the answer, but he is not. We don't need a person in position to point at and say "look what we did" We need our churches to stand up and say no to the gay agenda. We need pastors to say no to abortion and same sex unions. We need our men of God to stop standing behind Obama and start standing in front of him. He may be a leader in the natural, but in the spirit realm, God has the final say. This man is a President, not our daddy. He is not the missing father in your home. He is not the answer to your problems. He is not the savior for your sins. He is a man that was elected to public office and he needs leadership of strong men of God that can put racial prejudice behind them and show him God's way. But because many pastors backed him in spite of his immoral stances, so many of them have lost their opportunity to really be a light for him. So many just wanted to see him in office, that we forgot our greater obligation and that is to stand for righteousness at all costs. And as a people, we don't need to use this president as our trump card. We don't need to hold him up as our savior and answer. We don't need to feel like we are better now because we are not. We have a long way to go and if we don't turn from our wicked ways, and seek the face of God, we will yet be a slave to the system and be lost with a Black president in office.
Please people of God, pray. Not just for Obama, but for the mentality of our people of this nation. Obama could end up being the worst thing to ever happen to the black race if we continue on this path of unity in public but division in private. And though I don't agree with his stand on morals, I do hope he does a good job. But my confidence is not in man it is in Jesus. I urge believers to pray because America is sitting on a ticking time bomb. We are about to endure the rule of a very liberal congress and we as true Christians are going to have to fight like never before. And though we celebrate a black man in office, we must continue to fight his immoral policies and stand against the agenda of the antichrist.
2Chr. 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Rev. 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Rev. 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Rev. 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
Rev. 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Thank GOD for the Blood of JESUS CHRIST. HE is the PERFECT EXAMPLE of the WORD, because HE is the LIVING WORD OF GOD! HE came and gave HIS BLOOD, HIS MERCY, HIS LOVE, HIS GRACE, AND HIS LIFE to save them all. HE knew mankind did not have power over sin, so HE was sent from GOD to save mankind, and give us power over sin. HE said... I'VE COME TO SEEK AND TO SAVE THAT WHICH WAS LOST.....
We may judge and give up on the man or woman that cannot see their way, BUT GOD! BUT GOD...our loving FATHER sent HIS SON into a sinful world, where all forms & fashions of sin were being committed. HE was called all kinds of names and accused of being a "FRIEND OF SINNERS". I wonder who HIS accusers were? I wonder did they really realize the plan GOD had to save the sin sick soul? Could they even understand that JESUS knew the deep issues of sin in mans life? GOD knew that sin would steal, kill, destroy and every dream of mankind would be dissolved. But thank GOD, hope came through JESUS CHRIST who is the SAVIOR of all mankind. I could make a list of all sins, but one sin is no better than the other, all sins will take millions & billions of lives to eternal separation from GOD. To be separated from GOD eternally is the worst of all, and NO SIN is worth that at all. Even not doing what GOD said in HIS WORD to win souls, is a sin. The devil doesn't care how he comes, he comes in many fashions, he even will quote the WORD OF GOD. He'll do this to try and justify his evil, but don't be deceived as to what sin will do! Sin doesn’t like me, and it doesn’t like you. The devil is like a cancer, who ever allows him to infect there lives with sin, will die and be separated from GOD eternally.
This life down here is just a dressing up place, but no sin of any kind will reach the HEAVENLY place of GOD. So let us all be careful about judging one another based on what the media has said. Judging one another is not GODS way. GOD is not in confusion, and confusion is not in GOD. Where evil work is, there is confusion.
People are watching the way you are before they read what the BIBLE says.
To all the voters out there that voted. Remember people vote for various reasons. Some voted based on moral reasons, some voted because one medical care reasons, some voted because of the war, and economical or employment reasons I don't know they have there reasons and their choices. This is what our country different choices, This is what makes the American lifestyle different... Choices! GOD gave man the power to chose and make choices. Keep in mind that for every CHOICE men & women make there is a CONSEQUENCE!!!

"When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn." Prov 29:2
When an ungodly leader is "permitted" by God to rule, that typically means judgment upon a nation. Today, America's conscience is: "When the wicked rule, the people rejoice: but when the righteous beareth rule, the people mourn."
We must pray for President-Elect Barack Obama and his family, and the soul of this nation. One way or the other, judgement or revival will come forth.

Folks, the tone of this blog is so unchristian! Look, Obama won!! If we are to be the "salt and light" to our nation and the world, then, let's pray for President Elect Obama, even if you didn't vote for him or agree with him. Second, if we want to see the culture change, let us be greater witnesses for Jesus, not politics. Only a relationship with Christ is going to change the culture. That's not to say we should not engage in politics. Politics is important, but not to the extent that we place politics above Jesus. Then it becomes idolatry. Third, forgive one another. I have read some harsh things being said in this blog. Look, we can agree to disagree without be disagreeable. If you are a black person who was offened by some of the things that were written in this blog, and resorted to calling people racist, ask the Lord to fogive you and forgive them who offeneded you. If you are a white person who wrote things that were offensive, though they weren't offensive to you, Ask the the Lord to forgive you and apologize for the things that you said (Mark 11:25-26).
The world is watching us. Let us not forget the prayer Jesus prayed,"..that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me." (John 17:21-23, NIV) We may not agree, but even if we don't, let us love one another so that the life of Jesus may shine through us in this dark world. I believe that if we put as much energy to seeing souls won for Christ like we do in politics, we will see a greater harvest of souls. Let us put aside these divisions and work together for the kingdom. Just thought I put in my two cents worth.

PART 1
In response:
To the individual who wrote to the AFRICAN AMERICAN PEOPLE. I am proud and blessed to be an
AFRICAN AMERICAN person in this country. America has been my home for over 50 years. First of all let me say to all my AFRICAN AMERICAN brothers & sisters who have worked hard to achieve and accomplish your goals, GOD has highly favored all of you. Oh yes I could sit here and write on this computer about all of the negative and reckless behaviors in some people lives, but what good would it do? I’ve learned wisdom in my life, and the best way to deal with a problem is to go to the root of it and eradicate it with positive SOLUTIONS. If you really care about the problem you don't talk about it as if there is no solution, but you find a way of solving the problem...that’s if you really care! I thank GOD for Senator Obama and another chosen AFRICAN AMERICAN YOUNG LADY (myself)for we do not just see the stain of the problem, but we through GODS LOVE go to the root of the stain to wash out the problem. It is easy to point out the faults of others without having a solution. GOD saw the sin problem in ALL mankind and GOD didn't just talk about the problem of sin , but HE sent HIS SON into this world of sin to destroy the root of sin. It was not only AFRICAN AMERICANS that GOD saw sin in, but HE saw sin in all men & women, yes even in the individual who wrote about the AFRICAN AMERICAN community. Remember no one of us is better than the other. All of us were born in sin, and shaped in iniquity , separated from GOD! We were all as filthy rags in GODS site! BUT GOD, sent JESUS THE SPOTLESS ONE, HE died on the cross for all OUR SINS. Now we all have access to the FATHER because of JESUS CHRIST!
I read in my BIBLE where self righteous people have always been a problem to GOD! There is one that comes to my mind even now , he thought that he was so right that he would make his own throne in HEAVEN. I read that he was one of the most beautiful Angels that ever was created, but he forgot he was not GOD, and did not have the authority to bring change so he was rejected and thrown out..
It is totally wrong to criticize an individual or individuals without first of all being a part of the solution. One should not and does not have the right or authority to put down anyone. The BIBLE I read says judge not!
No one is denying the facts of life as they are now. However there is a possibility for “CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN” which will CHANGE the facts of life as they are to the facts of life as they should be! Never accuse the victim for the way they are because you don’t know the perpetrator of the crime. In other words you don’t know what is behind what you see. That’s why GOD sent JESUS because HE knows what ’s behind everything YOU see. That’s why MY BIBLE says “MAN JUDGES THE OUTWARD APPEARANCE, BUT GOD JUDGES THE HEART! You see some things are hidden and man cannot see, but there is a GOD who sees and watches everything , and doesn’t judge with little narrow eyes like you and me! Read your BIBLE!!! If only AFRICAN AMERICANS were in need of a Savior, JESUS would not have died for the WHOLE WORLDS SINS

To my AFRICAN AMERICAN sisters and brothers in CHRIST, and out of CHRIST, JESUS loved you
so much that he gave HIS LIFE and shed HIS BLOOD for you. You have been put down, you have been told what you couldn’t be, you’ve been told how bad you are. BUT I AM HERE TO TELL YOU THAT YOU ARE MADE AFTER GOS IMAGE AND IN HIS LIKENESS. I AM HERE TO TELL YOU THAT YOU HAVE PURPOSE RUGHT NOW IN THIS LIFE. I AM HERE TO TELL YOU THAT YOU ARE SPECIALLY DESIGNED TO BE WHAT GOD WANTS YOU TO BE! YOU MIGHT HAVE A LITTLE RAIN AND PAIN BEFORE YOU GET THERE, BUT MY GOD, THE EVERLASTING,GOD,THE ONLY WISE GOD, THE GODS WHO IS LOVE YOU, THE GOD WHO DOES NOT ACCUSE YOU INSPITE OF YOUR IMPERFECTIONS BUT HIS BLOOD IS THE CLEANING AGENT FOR ALL MANKIND! HALLELUJAH!!!! HE LOVES YOU, DON’T FORGET IT!!! By the way, man labels us human beings among other things but the BIBLE I read says I WAS MADE IN GODS IMAGE AND IN HIS LIKENESS. Label ME THIS… HIS CHILD, HIS DAUGHTER, HIS OFFSPRING with ROYAL BLOOD running through my veins, PRAISE HIM!!!
I AM NOT GOING TO LIMIT MYSELF, BECAUSE I HAVE WHITE, BLACK, RED, AND YELLOW BROTHERS & SISTERS ALL OVER THE WORLD, BEYOND REPUBLICAN AND DEMOCRATS PARTY. One day WE WILL ALL MEET IN THE MIDDLE OF THE AIR, AND JESUS HIMSELF WILL MEET US THERE AND TAKE US ALL HOME. YOU TALK ABOUT A FAMILY REUNION!!!! OH HALLELUJAH, I’LL SEE YOU THERE!!!!
Lastly let me say this AFRICAN AMERICANS have never looked for a savior in the WHITE HOUSE. Their intelligence, and FAITH IN GOD made them know that there answer is in GOD. They know that they have another BUILDING NOT MADE WITH EARTHLY HANDS, BUT ITS ETERNAL IN THE HEAVENS! JESUS SAID, “IN MY FATHERS HOUSE ARE MANY MANSIONS……I GO TO PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU THAT WHERE I AM YOU MAY BE ALSO”.
To all out there who are not saved GOD LOVES YOU and JESUS will save your soul. Let him in your heart today let him in to stay.

Kim Clement Prophesy said...
Back in March of this year Kim Clement prophesied God would cause Obama to take the White House. The he was God's choice. I read it the first day it was posted and many Christians were very angry at this word. There was so much angst over Obama that many disclaimers had to be issued because of the prophesy. Here are pieces of it:
"God says, "There is a sway in the political arena; a change in your political world. Enough of this discussion about Jeremiah Wright." God said, "This makes no difference. It is a spirit that has endeavored to rock and sway the people and to divide them." God said, "I will sway it next week. Yes, I will, and because of Pennsylvania, I will raise up the man I want," says the Lord, "to rule and to reign and to declare victory in the Middle East."
"For they have unfairly spoken against an African man, and I'm not talking about Jeremiah Wright; I'm talking about Obama. For God said, "Even though you may think this or that, there is an element of righteousness inside of him to reach out for Jesus. Therefore, I will sway it next week," says the Spirit of God, "and I will cause My man, My power--to exalt in the White House what is necessary to declare victory. For this time, I shall rise up and I shall make known who I am in a way that I have never done it in this nation," says the Lord."
"For the Spirit of God says, "Do not say, 'Is it this one or is it that one?' Hear me out. I am raising up My mantle, My voice. This nation shall be awakened to a spiritual activity that has been dead for 42 years. Listen to Me," says the Lord. "I will take over in a way and in a fashion that will bring a force of spiritual unity in this nation for the first time. You can believe it or not. I will take white and I will take African, and I will bring a unity in the Church between the two of them," says the Spirit of God."
"This night in America and in this next week, God has informed us to "watch" as He unfolds and reveals things so you will know that your nation has not been set aside for division and discord; but a time in the Church where African-American, where white or Caucasian, where Hispanic and every race in this nation under the spiritual guidance of the Spirit within a midst of war and division--will bring them to a place of unity."
End quote.
There it is in black and white. No Palin. No Esther. No McCain as God's man. A pretty clear word regarding Obama back in March. What do you think?

CLEMENTS OWN WORDS ...
"For it is a stench unto Me, says the Lord, to hear men speak about the possibilities of an African American president with disdain. I've already told you that there shall be an African American president that shall come to rule but it shall come in My time. It shall come in a time of maturity, it shall come at a time that is perfect for this nation. Therefore God said, do not look back and say 'oh we have to go back a few years.' God said, you're not going back, for I have already got the inventions ready for you to have the energy that you need and so that you can be self-sufficient. It's going to happen so quickly and God said even now, even at this time, during the Thanksgiving of this year, I shall unfold many many things in this order. Therefore God said, look, prosperity is coming back to you."
I am going to be candid, the African American president thing was worded in such way that had Obama lost, Clement would not have been on the hook. He could have just claimed in wasn't the time ... yet. I cannot rejoice with others about prophecies that hedge.
However, the energy 'word' is more specific.
We shall see. In just a few short weeks, we shall see.

Dutch Sheets responds to elections said...
Dutch Sheets’ response to the election outcome is remarkably short sighted. This man lacks vision and understanding of God’s will. The fact is, he DID prophesy that McCain and Palin would win the election and will now not own up to it. Please do a quick fact check through the internet before his failed “prophecies” are taken down. I feel it is very hard for him to understand that God is not a Republican, God is not an American Evangelical Christian, and God does not share Dutch’s world view. I feel Dutch believes his personal desires and feelings are God’s will, hence the confusion over the outcome of the elections. How does he respond? Because things did not go his way, he proclaims things did not go God’s way, and now God is mad, and now God will hurt and destroy those He is angry with for not backing Dutch's candidate. The response of Dutch Sheets, are the words of a very immature and small man.
I will elaborate further. I think the main problem with Dutch Sheets’ statement and his position in general is that Dutch, as well as many in the Evangelical community, have molded an idol of what the believe God is in their minds and hearts. This idol agrees 100% with the Evangelical interpretation of the Bible, the Evangelical view of right and wrong, correct and incorrect, and yes, the Evangelical political choice. They project the view of their Evangelical God onto all of the Body of Christ and those that are not “in-line” with this Evangelical idol are in error and in danger of harsh wrath and destructions.
When the real God does not conduct the world in the view of the idol they have created, instead of them being wrong, the rest of the world has erred judgment and punishment is on the horizon. When the real God acts in his sovereignty and things don’t line up with their idol of God, there is anxiety, confusion, and consternation. I am not saying these individuals are idol worshipers. What I am saying it that they have a fragmented, portioned view of God. So when the real God does not act as the image they have fashioned of Him, it us very hard for them to come to grips with – when reality does not align with the fashioned image. The natural human inclination is in the face of confusion to blame and spout recriminations. To close, yes, his is a small and immature position from a small and immature mind and requires deep searching of the heart.

CHICAGO – Barack Obama is signaling a shift in tactics and temperament as he moves from candidate to president-elect, picking sharp-elbowed Washington insiders for top posts.
His choice Thursday for White House chief of staff — Rahm Emanuel, a fiery partisan who doesn't mind breaking glass and hurting feelings — is a significant departure from the soft-spoken, low-key aides that "No-Drama Obama" surrounded himself with during his campaign. And transition chief John Podesta, like Emanuel, is a former top aide to Bill Clinton and a tough partisan infighter, though less bombastic than the new chief of staff.
The selections are telling for Obama, who campaigned as a nontraditional, almost "post-partisan" newcomer. People close to him say the selections show that Obama is aware of his weaknesses as well as his strengths and knows what he needs to be successful as he shifts from campaigning to governing.

Failed McCain words said...
The following message from "prophetic" ministers Darrel and Cindy deVIlle of Shekinah ministries, reveals the heart of many Pentecostals/Charismatics that either "prophesied" a McCain victory, or were badly wishing for one. The message eludes to the idea they are hoping some sort of misfortune or distruction comes to President Elect Obama before he can be sworn in to office. Are these individuals sick, or just grossly misguided? Hoping for someone's demise because their words fell short? This is remarkably egregious and without question nauseating.
Wake up Church. Stop this nonsense. Let us pray for the saftey, protection, health, and wisdom of President Elect Barack Obama. Not consciously or subconsciously desire his demise. What the H E double hockey sticks is going on with us?
Statement from Shekinah Today
Dear Friends,
We feel a great weight of responsibility to communicate with you in regards to the elections and the McCain-Palin prophecy.
At this moment we are truly in a state of shock and disbelief at the outcome of this election, as we completely believed we had heard clearly from God on this or we never would have shared it. As a ministry, we are setting time aside to pray and seek God’s counsel.
We know that Obama has not yet been sworn in, and it is possible that things could happen or be exposed to change the ultimate outcome.
We are seeking God for understanding in all this.
His ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:9)
In the end IF this prophecy does prove to be inaccurate (Obama sworn into office?)...Then we sincerely ask God for His forgiveness, for our weak use of His power and for bringing any reproach to His name. And secondly, with brokenness, sincerity and humility, we ask that you would forgive us if in any way we gave you false hope.
Humbly in Christ,
Darrel & Cindy deVIlle
PS. We plan to suspend the E-News updates, for now, they will return.

WOW! It seems God is Judging and correcting a lot of our "prophets" with this Election and a change is coming to the Body of Christ. It does not mean all thos who got it wrong are false prophets, it just means they don't know God as much as they think. GOD HID THIS SO WELL, how could this have happened and majority of our Watchmen, Intercessors, Apostles, Prophets missed it?? How? and now they still can;t believe its happening, WOW! God truely is AWESOME and HIS WAYS are past finding. This is a call for True Humility and admittance that with all our Positions, our hearts still need surgery from bias & favoritism; how easy itis to prohesy according to our desires. LET US PRAY FOR OUR LEADERS WHO MISSED IT- THEY NEED IT!
Stay Humble!

I kept reading all the posts thinking surely one would point out that true religion is about helping the poor not about controlling other people's sexuality. It's telling that at the judgment seat God doesn't say "depart from me for you didn't rail against sexuality" Or even "depart from me for you didn't say the sinner's prayer." Instead he said "I was hungry and you didn't feed me" In a democracy, WE are the government. If we vote to ignore poverty it better be because we have given so much that there IS no poverty.
It is my hope that Evangelicals are growing up and will soon rejoin mainstream Christianity.

I could go on and on about how disappointing it has been to read the articles that have come out of Charisma in recent times, but it is of no use.
Right now, I am more interested in pursuing topics that have to do with
1. why we christians have been so suckered by the republican party, that we still can not seem to register the fact that we have been played and
2. why some of us christians missed the boat on Barack and chose to believe prophecies, etc.
Right now, I am going to share an article I discovered that deals with the first point. It is written by someone who does not share our christian world view, and it is an attempt to explain why Sarah Palin is being shredded to bits by Republican powers that be but it really actually says some important things about us christians and our relationship with the GOP.
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/11/6/102054/623/360/655615
I think it is important for us as christians to to not get so insular that we are unable to hear what others say, partly because we are so lifted in pride, we believe we are the only ones who have all the answers.

I have just read a statement on Dutch Sheets website stating clearly that the results of the elections are NOT GOD'S WILL- Ducth says "Im confident its not".
Visit link below:
http://www.dutchsheets.org/index.cfm
So he is so sure that what he heard from God was that McCain & Palin were God's pick and choice.
I recall sometime in Sept, Dutch issued a prophecy when it seemed the ellection was going Obama's way that there was going to be a "Shift in October" and it was going to expose one of the candidate (Obama) and God's preferred man (McCain) will be exonerated. As it so happened there was a massive shift in October - the economic crisis broke, banks began to fail and it sparked a global crises- however the result was different, it was Obama that emerged stronger and strengthened his lead- it was during this period that many that were unsure of Obama came to see his leadership skills. SO the quetion is, was this a misinterpretation of prophesy?? Clearly Dutch still does not see it this way.
The Issue that has been touted is that Obama is not pro-life, however so is McCain- he has said Abortion is ok in the case of Incest & Rape (correct me if I'm wrong) If this is the case, what makes him more qualified to be in the White House?
TIME WILL REVEAL THE HEARTS OF ALL MEN!

The election has come and gone. We now have as our President-elect, Barrack Obama. We welcome him, with the love of God, as the soon to be sworn-in President of the United States of America. I voted for the first time in this election and I bless God for that opportunity.
I pray and declare for President-elect Barrack Obama - that no weapon formed against him(and against his wife, Michelle and daughters Malia and Sasha) will prosper, that every tongue that rises up against him in judgment I condemn. It is my heritage as a servant of the LORD and my righteous is from the LORD, says the LORD - Isaiah 54:17.
I pray total protection and preservation for him and his entire family. I pray and declare that he (President-elect Barrack Obama) will be the best president of the US - He will govern with the righteousness and wisdom of God and the seven fold Spirit of God (Isaiah 11:2-3) will be upon him and his family. He will do the will of God for this generation in Jesus Name. The will and destiny of God for this nation will prosper in his hands. He will delight in the fear of the LORD and the LORD will surround him with the best counselors and advisers who will fulfill God's will for this land. We will continue to pray daily for Him and this nation will prosper and be the light of God to the world.
I did not vote for him (President-elect Barrack Obama) but I pray for him and support him now he has been chosen to govern this land. Isaiah 43:18-19 - Do not remember the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Listen, folks, I don't know why you're spending time being concerned about what any "prophets" said. Hahahaha... it didn't TAKE a prophet to be able to see that the Republican ticket was doomed to lose from the beginning for a huge number of reasons. Could you folks really not see that coming??? You sat there and heard Sarah Palin say, "Oh, say it ain't so, Joe!" and you really thought there was a snowball's chance in Texas of her being elected? McCain's advisors are now saying that she was unaware that AFRICA IS A CONTINENT!!!! She had to be shown Iraq on a MAP! Other Republican advisors are calling her "the Alaska hillbilly!"
Listen, some of you may think I'm a "sore winner"... but I'm sitting back and praising the God of all creation that the process of America going to hell in a hand basket has just slowed way down!
Thank you, Lord Jesus Almighty, that America is slowly waking up!

God is in control and sees all. If the leaders serve Him they will prosper if not He is the one who places one in and removes one. We as a nation must trust Him at all times. God rules and He will do what He wants. He only can change the hearts and minds of men. We vote for who we believe is the most righteous and leave all to him. Man looks at the outward appearence but God sees the heart.

5 States of Grief said...
There are five stages of grief according to the Kubler-Ross Model. It sounds like Dutch Sheets and many others posting here and in the Evangelical community are going through them:
1. Denial.
At first, we tend to deny the loss has taken place, and may withdraw from our usual social contacts. This stage may last a few moments, or longer.
2. Anger.
The grieving person may then be furious at the person who inflicted the hurt or at the world, for letting it happen. He may be angry with himself for letting the event take place, even if, realistically, nothing could have stopped it.
3. Bargaining.
Now the grieving person may make bargains with God, asking, "If I do this, will you take away the loss?"
4. Depression.
The person feels numb, although anger and sadness may remain underneath.
5. Acceptance.
This is when the anger, sadness and mourning have tapered off. The person simply accepts the reality of the loss.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Billy Graham's work as a pastor to presidents is coming to an end, but he is praying for Barack Obama as the nation's next leader begins his work, Graham's son said Friday on the ailing evangelist's 90th birthday.
Franklin Graham said in an interview that his father's mind remains sharp even as his body continues to fail. But the preacher who has counseled every president beginning with Eisenhower is not in line to mentor Obama.
"My father feels like his time and day for that is over," Franklin Graham said. "But he would certainly like to meet (Obama) and pray with him."
Graham's views of the world are still respected in White House circles. Republican presidential candidate John McCain visited Graham at his mountainside home during the campaign, and Obama tried to meet Graham but wasn't able to do so because of the preacher's poor health.
Though never partisan in his preaching, Billy Graham is a registered Democrat. His son expressed concern about Obama's views on abortion and gay marriage — an issue Franklin Graham raised in a meeting with the Illinois senator — saying that he and is father are conservatives who believe the Bible speaks clearly on those issues.
"President-elect Obama heard our position," Franklin Graham said. "And I told him that this was very difficult for us and hard for us. It's a moral issue that we just can't back down on."
"But he's our president-elect, and those positions that he holds that are contrary to Biblical teaching, I hope that God will change his heart," said Graham, who now heads the Charlotte-based Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
Obama favors abortion rights, and does not support a constitutional amendment to ban gay marrage. He supports civil unions and believes states should decide their own laws about marriage.
About 160 of Graham's close family and friends celebrated his birthday with an intimate gathering Friday at his home in Montreat, featuring fried chicken, barbecue and sweet tea. His ministry had received some 100,000 greetings — including a video from President Bush — from people who told stories about how he changed their lives. Graham's son said they would be bound so that someone could read a few dozen letters to him each day.

According to me there are five principles of victory:
1) Acknowledge that your victory was a group effort. None of us are so great on our own.
2) Acknowledge the best in the opposition. Most coins have two sides that each deserve consideration.
3) Help your defeated foe to get back up. If you kick dust on him and saunter pridefully away, he may pull himself up with renewed vigor to defeat you. Your churlish actions would have provided him fuel for that effort.
4) Get your mind off your victory. If it meant anything, it has left you with responsibility. Get on with your tasks. Vanity is never becoming to a victor.
5) Resist the temptation to taunt your opponent. It makes you look like you've never been a winner before and you certainly don't want to give that impression ... even it is true.

Who Got To Ask Questions At The Obama Presser?
In order:
Nedra Pickler (AP), Lee Cowan (NBC), Jake Tapper (ABC), Chip Reid (CBS), Karen Bohan (Reuters), John McCormick (Chicago Tribune), Lynn Sweet (Chicago Sun-Times), Candy Crowley (CNN), Jeff Zeleny (New York Times).
Which network didn't get a question? Fox News.

You forgot MSNBC. But they probably didn't get to ask a question because the effusive nature of such a question would probably have embarrassed the president-elect:
"Senator Obama, first of all, you look so very presidential in your power suit, complete with metallic blue tie. You certainly cut a handsome figure. I can't believe you have not had time to workout or eat heathily. You look great! Yummy, actually.
"But, all that aside, when do you plan on getting to the Fairness Doctrine, because, as you know, comedian Rush Limbaugh and mad dog Sean Hannity are still trying to upset the utopia that your victorious --- stunningly victorious, I might add --- victory brought. They actually have the temerity to question your policies (oh, excuse me, I just threw up a little in my mouth thinking about their insolence toward so great a man as yourself). The Fairness Doctrine, reinstituted, will, as you know, force media outlets to make sure their programming time is equally divided. For every big, fat conservative blowhard, their will have to be a brilliant, eloquent peacemaker from the left on the air (even if, of course, no one wants to listen to them and those hours of air time are financial losers).
"So, sir, when do you intend to get the Fairness Doctrine on the table?
"And, I have a follow-up ... can I kiss you somewhere, anywhere on your glorious body?"

A new report from American University’s Center for the Study of the American Electorate concludes that voter turnout in Tuesday’s election was the same in percentage terms as it was four years ago — or at most has risen by less than 1 percent.
Louis Farrakhan's Messiah is not as cool as he thought. But hey the smart ones among us knew that. He won because Republicans did not show up.
“A downturn in the number and percentage of Republican voters going to the polls seemed to be the primary explanation for the lower than predicted turnout,” the report said. Compared to 2004, Republican turnout declined by 1.3 percentage points to 28.7 percent, while Democratic turnout increased by 2.6 points from 28.7 percent in 2004 to 31.3 percent in 2008."

I too supported Mike Huckabee. I really liked his platform and what he stood for. My option during the primary season was that Barack would not have been the nominee since he went up against the political powerhouse of the Clintons. Much to my surprise, he upended the Clintons. I deeply saddened that Huckabee did not win the nomination.
McCain did not have my support because of 1 main reason. He withdrew his support of the evangelicals to appease people who could care less about this nation except what would benefit themselves.

Christian author Dean Merrill spoke at our church Sunday before the election, and one of the verses he addressed was 1 Peter 2:17: honor the king. The king at that time, at least of the Roman Empire, was none other than Nero! No one we have elected as president was nearly as evil and corrupt as Nero. If God can give Christians the grace to pray for someone like Nero, He can equip us to pray for Obama.
HOWEVER, I wonder about a few things:
1. A Period of Mourning - A very large number of the Christians (so-called, and also genuine) of America did not vote with reason or morality, if they voted for Obama. Here is why I say this. They will have the blood on their hands of millions of aborted babies, as a result. He is determined to sign the Freedom of Choice Act, and the clock will roll back to 1973 (legally) when that happens. 52,000.000 (and counting) aborted human beings since Roe v. Wade made abortion on demand the law of the land, and this man voted twice to allow even born-alive aborted babies to die! If Christians knew this, and voted for him anyway, then I grieve for their error. If Christians didn't know about this and voted for him, then I grieve for the Church's failure to inform. In no way can any well-wishing, hatchet-burying, or forget-our-differences-and-work-together sentiments diminish the horror of electing a president who can erase 35 years of work to win back the right to life of the unborn. We must not allow any fatigue or defeatism to blunt the edge of righteous indignation and outrage that our nation has legalized the termination of 1 in 4 conceptions every year since 1973. We cannot rejoice over the ascendancy of a man who has vowed to continue the barbaric slaughter of what he calls "mistakes."
2. A Call to Awareness - The man has been deified, not to mention coronated, by many. Where the national media has failed, the Church must not. His positions on key issues of interest to Christians therefore must be communicated by Christians (but not from the pulpit), based on his books, his interviews, his unguarded off-hand comments, and his voting record. Much as we have become weary of the political process, the truth must not be concealed about the plans he has.
3. An Appeal to Christians to Enter Politics - Why have we so few choices when it comes to electing Christians? Maybe Obama's success as a minority individual can encourage Christians as minority individuals to get their schooling and run for public office. People want hope and have a capacity to believe in a person; this was realized by Obama and his handlers, and exploited. Christians running for office can provide a godly alternative to all those looking for a change we can believe in.
4. A Sincere Repentance -For allowing our democracy and the organs of power in our society to become so corrupt. The Founders would be horrified not because a black man has been elected president but because a nation with so much promise had become so desperate for hope that they latched on to an eloquence which is so lacking, at critical points, biblical discretion.
None of these thoughts diminishes the value of rejoicing that our God is still on the throne. Nevertheless, as the week has continued and I've watched what has bubbled up to the surface in my heart and mind, I feel these four things recurring. Are they the plans of a man's heart or the counsel of the Lord (Proverbs 19:21) --- this I will be praying about.

You have further been quoted as saying that that 40 percent would receive the $500 also. Since they are already at zero as far as a tax burden, they would be receiving an unexpected check.

But MSNBC went so far over the edge that I had to take them out of my informal "rotation" (for my own piece of mind). MSNBC has made a business decision that the Daily Kos, Huffington Post, Slate, and MoveOn.org crowd watches TV, too, and it has staked them out as the audience they want. Fine. Senator Obama may be Louis Farrakhan's messiah, but we know after today that he is not a perfect one:
President-elect Barack Obama called Nancy Reagan this afternoon to apologize for a joke about her having held "séances" in the White House, an Obama aide said.
“President-elect Barack Obama called Nancy Reagan today to apologize for the careless and off handed remark he made during today’s press conference," said transition spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter. "The President-elect expressed his admiration and affection for Mrs. Reagan that so many Americans share and they had a warm conversation."
Obama was asked at his press conference today if he'd spoken to all the "living" presidents.
"I have spoken to all of them who are living," he responded. "I didn’t want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about doing any séances."
He was apparently confusing stories about Reagan's consulting with an astrologer with those about other First Ladies -- from Mary Todd Lincoln to Hillary Clinton -- who tried to make contact with figures from the past.

I do not want people running the country that think everything popped into place 6,000 years ago. The Republican party and their anti-logic, anti-intellect, anti-education, anti-science, platform almost knocked our great nation into the dark ages, and without a doubt has placed our young minds at risk.
I believe in creation and a creator, but I am not simple minded enough to believe it took a few thousand years. God gave us minds and opened the wisdom of science to us so we could plumb the mysteries of His creation. Not to cling to magic, superstition, and plain weird thinking.
Obama carried the educated vote handily. Much of middle america and the less educated voted for McCain. Without a doubt, anti-intellectual Pentecostals/Charismatics were all in for McCain with their "if it's odd it's God," and "get your mind and logic out of the way" mentalities. In my opinion, we can obliterate the Republican party by simply boosting post high school education. The smarter and individual is, the less they will buy into the Republican platform.
