The Consequences of This Election Are High, So Pray
My inbox is full of e-mails from many Christian leaders calling for prayer and fasting and warning that if Sen. Barack Obama is elected, there are serious consequences for everything from right to life, to national security, to turning America toward European-style socialism. This week's report is a compilation of what I think are the most serious warnings. It is also a call to pray and to believe for a miracle to see John McCain get elected.
Meanwhile I'm being bombarded by some very strong negative comments from so-called “Christians”--most of them black--who are supporting Obama because he's black and blasting anyone who won't vote for him as racist. This is sad to me because I've worked all my adult life to build bridges of reconciliation to the black community. Click here to read Kim Daniel's important word on the election from a black woman who is not afraid to buck the trend of nearly everyone in the black community.
The first and most important item is a statement from Dutch Sheets about the spiritual ramifications of this election. You can read that at the end of this report. And you can click on the links below to download a prophetic song by Klaus Kuehn and a prayer from Dutch. Forward this and the entire Strang Report to your family and friends.

As always you're invited to leave your comments on our blog.
Prophetic leaders are hesitant to say publicly they believe God will give McCain a surprising win, much as Truman defeated Dewey in 1948. But that is what I'm hearing through e-mails and phone calls, even though the polls are saying Obama is ahead in key states.
Some Christian leaders are also predicting a nasty round of race problems and even riots over this election. Let's pray that the predictions are wrong.
I’m including an analysis by my friend Mike Evans on the effect that an Obama presidency would have on Israel and predicting he would sell out the Israelis as Jimmy Carter sold out the Shah of Iran in the 1970s. To read it, click here.
Also at http://www.valuevotersusa.com/ there is a video worth watching and passing on. More than 750,000 have viewed it on YouTube in less than a week, and thousands of churches downloaded the video and showed it in their churches last Sunday.
Finally, click here to read a report I received from a financial advisor I respect--Eric Reinhold--on the serious consequences financially if Obama takes us down the road to socialism. I will also include information from the Traditional Values Coalition questioning those who “groomed Obama” as a youth. You can read it by clicking here.
For those of you in California, Lou Engle is holding TheCall in San Diego on Saturday, Nov. 1. Click here for more information, and help us get out the word to those you know in California.
Meanwhile, read the recent report from my colleague Lee Grady on Obama's connection to Odinga, a socialist in Kenya, by clicking here.

Letter from Dutch Sheets:
October 27, 2008
With the upcoming elections 8 days away, satan has worked hard to deflect attention off of the real issue. This has been relatively easy through the economic meltdown and an unpopular war. Many Americans, including Christians, will vote based on these two issues. While these things are obviously important, they pale in light of the real issue—the Supreme Court.
The cover story of USA Today, on Thursday of last week, spelled this out quite clearly. It stated that the real legacy of the next president won’t be the economy or the war, but the Supreme Court. The next president of the United States will appoint at least 2, and maybe 3, Justices in his first term. If he serves 2 terms, it could be 5 Justices—there are 5 of the 9 on the Court 70 years old or older! Since the trend is to appoint younger and younger Justices, the next president will most likely shape the court for the next 30-40 years! This means we are not voting only for a president, we are voting for the Court we want for the next generation! The vote we cast on November 4th will do more to shape the culture we give our children and grandchildren than any other vote of our lifetime! Perhaps some succinct bullet points will help us see this clearly:
- • Without question, no institution, organization, or agency has shaped the current culture of America in the last 50 years more than the Supreme Court. You don’t need millions of people, the majority in Congress, or the President to shape the culture of America. You only need 5 people—the majority of the Supreme Court. Five people can kill 50 million babies (the number aborted since Roe vs. Wade), legalize homosexual marriage, remove parental rights, put God out of schools and government, rob from us our godly heritage, etc.
- • It is now split—sometimes 5-4 toward life, family, morality, our godly heritage, the intent of our forefathers when they wrote the Constitution; sometimes 5-4 toward death, immorality, legislating their beliefs from the bench (though not their constitutional role or right, this is easy—they simply say the Constitution is a fluid, living document and therefore must be changed to accommodate the times), removing God from our nation, etc.
- • 2-3 Justices will retire over the next 4 years, their replacements chosen by the next president; possibly a couple more will step down 5 to 8 years from now, making it 5 potential Justices that could be appointed by the next president if he serves 2 terms. This will determine how the Court rules for a generation.
- • The first two Justices to go will almost certainly be Stevens who is 88 years old and Ginsberg who is 75 and ill. They are the two most liberal and are no doubt waiting to retire, hoping for a president that will replace them with 2 more liberals. These two replacements alone, if they are good, conservative judges could shift the Court toward righteousness for many years.
- • Conclusion: our vote this November 4th will be not for a president, not for the economy, not for ending our involvement in Iraq. Our vote will be for what we want America to look like 40 years from now!
The ramifications of this are staggering! We are no doubt reaping great judgment now in America—diseases, family breakdowns, violence, a death culture, destructive weather, and much more—because of abortion alone…not to mention expelling God and His laws from our schools and government. I don’t know that we can survive another 40 years of this without completely losing our godly heritage and destiny. The economy will recover and the war will end no matter who is elected president—but this is not the case with the Court and the soul of this nation.
If you don’t know where the candidates stand on the Court and the kind of Justices they would appoint, read the USA Today article. It makes their positions very clear. Share this information with every friend and acquaintance you have. And finally, pray like never before for God’s will to be done in this election. We CAN win this war and we MUST NOT lose this war. Pick up your word, go to war and let’s make history together. Here are some practical suggestions to consider:
- Fast (a meal a day; a day this week; a Daniel fast; 3 days; TV; etc.) and spend the time praying.
- Agree in prayer with someone everyday for God’s will to be done.
- Hold nightly prayer meetings
- Take time in every gathering to pray. (Take 15 minutes in every service to pray for the elections. Turn an entire service to harp and bowl style intercession—worship and prayer combined.)
- Join 2 or more friends on a conference call and pray for 15, 20, or 30 minutes.
- Pray on the way to work (and on the way home).
- Pray before you go to sleep.
- Pray before church services.
- Ask God to give you His strategy—He will!
For God and Our Great Nation,
Dutch Sheets

Steve Strang,
for the life of me, I don't understand why you are trying to be so simplistic or black and white about this.
What makes you think blacks are only voting for Barack because he is black? Is he not smart? is he not well-thought out, organized, disciplined, exhibiting in godly traits, even though he supports (in word) traditional policies that are not to conservative christians' tastes?
Why are you then painting Barack's popularity within the black community to be only about color?
Bill Clinton was adored by black people. I mean, Bill Clinton could do no wrong. Were you blasting blacks back then for being overwhelmingly pro-clinton?
Have blacks in this generation ever been overwhelmingly anything but democrats? Why do you sound so desperate? Lemme guess: the sky is falling. If Barack wins, God will die. Like God needs our help to be God. If you believe there will be an upset, and McCain will win, then so be it. We shall see on Nov 5. If McCain wins, I will be disappointed because McCain/Palin is a supremely mediocre team and America deserves better, but God will still be God.
I have a problem with how you and your gang of thuggish friends, in the name of the Lord insist on tarring an innocent man, who is a christian, by the way. Your resistance to Obama seems to indicate that just maybe, in your heart, it is hard to see a black person rise up like this. "There has to be something demonic about it. Maybe he is the anti-christ." Did you hear Mary's prophecy/prayer when she was told she would carry the Messiah? "God raises the humble and brings down the mighty" Is it possible God has raised Obama? Do you know everything about what God chooses to do and when? Would He be God if you could just manipulate Him whenever you want your way?
Christians were willing to give George Bush the benefit of the doubt because he named the name of the Lord. Bush could barely get his sentences and words strung together right. And we see that all the being saved in the world did not make up for his ability to make right decisions, discern correctly, raise up America as the beacon it used to be, and obviously there have been no positive changes made to the onslaught of the gay or abortion issue.
Christians are getting played like a fiddle at the hands of republicans who are using us and wedge issues that we have made idols at the expense of common sense, wisdom, godliness, etc.
We gave Reagan the benefit of the doubt, even though he was actually suffering from dementia by the time he entered office. Neither parties are free from sin, corruption or the ability to be corrupted. We are still on earth, in case you forgot. It is a travesty how blinded you have allowed yourself to become.I think the republican party may have stood for some great things. But right now, it needs to go back to the drawing board and repent and start all over again, if it wants to represent christians.
We Christians are allowed to have differences of opinions and beliefs but putting a guilt trip on others for choosing their perceived lesser of two evils is unfair. We christians are becoming less-narrow-minded, and more concerned about other issues like poverty, creation care, etc.
If we love our country, we will pray not just prior to the election, but all the more after as well. That's when the actual real work begins. Because a butt-whipping is on the way and it's time to take stock of them many ways the republican party has gone wrong.
Why don't you encourage your readers to do that? Sometimes God actually allows defeat too you know...

I can not believe that Steven Strang actually said "so-called Christians". It is absolutely heartbreaking what this election is doing to the body of Christ.

Disgusting....
Mr. Strang, you and others like yourself who have used this election to spread fear and hate through out the body of Christ, have lost the respect of many Christians...myself being one.
I will never be able to look upon you as a 'voice' in the Church again.
And no, I'm not black.
I'm one of those you referred to as "so-called Christians" who believes in being led by the Lord as to how to vote--or IF to vote.
Not led by you or others who have tried to manipulate the Body of Christ during this election with fear, false prophetic words, or intimidation.
I beg you, repent and return to your first love..
Signed: A concerned Jesus loving 'old white woman' from the South

Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin are showing good Christian character aren't they? I suppose that is why some Christians are voting for them.
Please do not confuse Gov. Palin with ESTHER. ESTHER upheld GODS standards and principles. ESTHER did not participate in dirty, slanderous, name calling ,misjudging, politics but she did PRAY to GOD, and used good judgment and wisdom which effectually delivered her people from pending destruction. She did not have to go to the government to ask for help. She PROCLAIMED A FAST for herself and her people and GOD moved. GOD has all power to deliver HIS people.
It brought no shame to GOD and HIS people, but a great victory and feast followed.
CHURCH lets do OUR JOB and don't look to government for help. One day this same government might come after you and me. WAKE UP CHURCH! Who are we serving man or GOD? Who are we trusting in, a political leader, or JESUS CHRIST our LORD and KING? Why are we acting like the world, who have no hope? Why are we acting as if,, who ever wins the presidency will either have the answers, or not have the answers? (JESUS IS THE ANSWER!) Are we standing on GODS WORD or are we standing on mans little strength?
You say the republicans are on the right, and the democrats are on the left. But there is somebody relying on JESUS and HIS power, which HE has given every CHRISTIAN. The power HE has given us, is to win lost souls, of all backgrounds and fashions. Our challenge is to do what GOD said do, regardless to what this world does. GOD is requiring us to walk in his HOLY WAYS...HOLY WAYS! GOD expects us to walk in love toward them that are without him. Every person who is committing ANY SIN of ANY KIND, must be loved by us, not condemned. They are already condemned in their sins and bound. We must, through the love of GOD, and the POWER of GOD set them free! We are so busy playing politics as if that is the answer. Politics will NEVER, EVER save 1 SOUL, BUT CHURCH…. doing what JESUS say will CHANGE the world and the neighborhood where we stay. {We are getting our “P”s mixed up….. We’re using .politics instead of using power from GOD himself!} GOD does not ask the world for anything, because HE IS POWER ALL BY HIMSELF!

This world will change, and unfortunately its going to get worse before it gets better. JESUS is not even going to come back to this place right now, BUT HE will come and stop in the middle of air, and call us up to go home with HIM! ……All of them who WERE in sin ,who we obeyed GOD and witnessed to, through HIS love and power will also be on that flight. PRAISE GOD!
EVERY HOMOSEXUAL, EVERY WOMAN THAT HAD AN ABORTION, EVERY DRUNKARD,EVERY ADULTERER, EVERY MAN OR WOMAN THAT HAS RECEIVED CHRIST AND BEEN WASHED IN HIS HOLY BLOOD…CLEANSED FROM EVERY SIN. If they know JESUS, THE ONE AND ONLY ONE WHO LAID HIS LIFE DOWN ….FREELY FOR ALL MANKIND EVERY WHERE. IN THIS COUNTRY AND THE COUNTRY WE SAY THAT DOESN’T COUNT.
THE SONG WRITER SAID, “WHAT CAN WASH AWAY MY SINS….NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS, WHAT CAN MAKE ME WHOLE AGAIN…NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS“. SO WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ACCUSERS…THERE ARE NONE, BECAUSE THE BLOOD OF JESUS HAS WASHED AWAY EVERY SIN AND STAIN, AND HE DOES NOT HOLD THEM AGAINST THEM ANYMORE. HALLELUJAH.
SO I’M NOT GOING TO GET COMFORTABLE DOWN HERE, WHY? BECAUSE MY TREASURE….MY TREASURE IS NOT DOWN HERE. WHERE MAN HAS CONTROL, BUT IT IS IN THE GLORIOUS PRESENCE OF GOD..PRESERVED FOR ME. MY TREASURE CANNOT BE COMPARED TO A LITTLE OLD EARTHLY TREASURE. AN EARTHLY TREASURE CAN BE TAKEN AWAY BY MAN, WAR, FLOODS, EARTHQUAKES, FIRES, YOU NAME IT…BUT MY HOPE IS BUILT ON NOTHING LESS THAN JESUS BLOOD AND ALLLLLLLL HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS. MY HOPE IS NOT BUILT IN THE GOVERNMENT…, BUT HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS…, NOT A CANDIDATE…BUT HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS.
NOW REMEMBER THIS “GIVE THAT WHICH BELONGS TO CAESAR TO CAESAR AND GIVE THAT WHICH BELONGS TO GOD TO GOD!” PRAISE HIM SOMEBODY….
I REMEMBER DAVID…HE SAID I HAVE BEEN YOUNG AND NOW AM OLD, BUT I’VE NEVER SEEN THE RIGHTEOUS FORSAKEN NOR HIS SEED BEGGING FOR BREAD. HALLELUJAH!
MY BROTHERS & SISTERS DON’T GET COMFORTABLE IN THE EARTHLY LAND, BECAUSE WE MIGHT LOSE FOCUS ON THE SOULS WE MUST WIN. JESUS CHRIST IS COMING SOON! IS YOUR LAMP FULL OF OIL AND BURNING BRIGHT AS YOU AWAIT THE COMING OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST?
YES I’M ENJOYING MY RIDE HOME, BECAUSE WHERE JESUS GOES I GO ALSO.
BUT I CAN’T HARDLY WAIT UNTIL I STOP RIDING DOWN HERE ,AND GET HOME WITH JESUS UP,THERE! “GLORY TO GOD”!

Sarah Palin and John McCain slandering? You must belong to the mainstream media. Neither she nor he has ever said anything untrue about BHO, who has more connections to radical God-haters than any presidential candidate in US history. That is not slander. That is fact.
I thank God for Steve Strang's boldness and all the other HIGHLY respected leaders of the Body who are saying the same thing. Are they all racists? And who is endorsing BHO in the Body of Christ? Jim Wallis? Tony Campolo? And a bunch of waffling, leftist, black racist and "emergent" christian "leaders" who have wandered from Biblical faith? No thanks!
Look: Do not vote for McCain because he is a fabulous Christian. Vote for McCain because he is NOT a fraud. Vot for him because he is NOT Obama. McCain has proven he is not an enemy of the Kingdom, but BHO has proven he is with his voting record, his endorsements, his funding sources, his commitments to homosexuals, union expansion and baby-killing paybacks.
Thanks to Steve Strang for his strong and fearless defense of the Truth.

I agree this election is going to create turmoil no matter how you vote. But maybe we should look at another situation in regard to our Supreme Court. Maybe the justices should not be appointed to life terms that lock us in to their particular thoughts over a life time. Maybe we should look at changes to that system so we are not regulated by any one persons choice, no matter who the President is. You must remember the President will make mistakes on their choices and even confirmation hearings are dictated by whatever party is in power.

I will vote for John McCain and Sarah Palin.
My foremost concern is Supreme Court appointments. McCain has repeatedly committed (under pressure from conservatives) to appoint strict constructionist justices. Obama's appointments can be anticipated based on his opposition to Ledbetter v. Goodyear (where citizen Ledbetter was ruled against by the High Court because five justices held a strict constructionist view. Obama not only felt badly that Ms. Ledbetter did not prevail against Goodyear, but he also lamented that Court ruled the way it did. In short --- he will appoint liberal justices that view the constitution as a "living document" subject to reinterpretation by contemporary justices viewing through a contemporary prism.
HOWEVER, should Obama and Biden will win, they will have my full prayerful support, and I will respect the office of the president and vice-president.
Should we experience the unpleasantness of an Obama/Biden win, conservatives like myself should remind ourselves that we survived the days of Lyndon Johnson. We will survive an Obama presidency if we must face that.
Beyond all of this temporal political struggle, King Jesus reigns and is making all of His enemies His footstool. Praise the Lord!

This is all very sad, because it is completely based on irrational fear. As the months have gone by, the fears have changed as the McCain campaign has changed its tactics from one slander to another; atheistic-Arab-Indonesian-African-not a "real American"-liberal-democrat-terrorist-Muslim-liberation theologist-ACORN-inexperienced-etc; with the "socialist" theme being only the latest. The theology behind these dire predictions is wrong, the economics is wrong, the political analysis is wrong and the facts are wrong. Unfortunately, there is a core of racism to the fear, because these attacks echo those of the post-Civil War area, up through the present day. The coded words just change. Be afraid of the freed slaves because they will take your property, they are lazy and only want welfare, not jobs, they are too dumb to vote, and so should have to pass literacy tests, and so on. This is the legacy of Lee Atwater and Karl Rove.

I reject the charge leveled above that McCain and Palin use coded words of racism.
That some of their bitter followers do, I have no doubt.
You should note that I also reject the many charges of sexism leveled against the Obama campaign and its media supporters.
With the exception of the inordinate attention paid to Governor Palin's attire and physical appearance (do you for instance, hear constant references to Senator Obama's handsomeness, or, the cost and style of Joe Biden's shoes?), I do not see evidence of this purported sexism. If women enter the political arena they must accept the same treatment that men subject each other to (unfortunate and unkind as it may often be).
But again, saying the Senator Obama's policies and associations are troubling and appear to contain the seedlings of socialism is a LEGITIMATE line of discussion. As with Sarah Palin, Barack Obama is not exempted from facing hard questions because of --- in his case --- his ethnicity.

Hi Bro. Strang,
I was very offended when I read your comments about black christians voting for Obama because he is black.
I am a black woman and I am a Christian and I will vote for Obama because it is my choice.
I am so sick and tied of people playing this race card. Obama's mother is white and father is black so am sure he knows all to well about the race card.
We as Christian need to stand-up for the entire bible instead of picking and choosing what we consider big or small sins. We Christian say don't vote for Him because he believe in abortion and gay marriage. Well what does the bible say about divorce, adultery, lying, stealing. Well, lets see who's going to Paula and Randy White, Juanita Bynum and let them know that God hate divorce. Let's take them off the airway since they got divorced. Same thing, sin is sin no matter who does it. Let me see an article address to them and the rest of our Christian bothers and sister who have falling into these situations. And taking we saints money.

Just some questions I have sought answers to relative to the issue of abortion. To be sure it has been the single biggest issue I have struggled with as a believer in this election.
1) With five of our last seven administrations coming from the Republicans, why has the only significant drop - more than a 15% cumulative drop by some accounts) in abortions come during the Clinton administration? (I voted for Bush both times by the way.
2) Why should we believe that conservative Republican judges (strict constructionists) will overturn Roe v. Wade? Bush has appointed two (Allito and Roberts) and yet little has changed to stem the tide (in fact abortions have dropped less than 1% in his eight years as president).
3) Why are so many Republicans OK with the Bush doctrine of preemptive war? This is a strategy that surely is responsible for the death of many innocent people around the world. Certainly the innocent in the womb is important, but what about those outside of it?
4) Does socio-economic policy and/or moral-ethical leadership have a role to play in helping American families to re-prioritize? After 9/11, Bush told us to all go shopping. Sen. Obama has repeatedly spoken out on the systemic issues that are leading to unwanted pregnancies; the sacredness of sexuality, a lack of focus on abstinence, a parent's absence from the home. McCain, while a war hero, has been the husband to more than one woman (because of infedelity), had serious ties to Charles Keating and his plot to keep the government from stepping in during the S&L scandal that cost thousands of American senior citizens their life savings.
Answer these questions for me. I have already cast my early ballot for Barack Obama. No, we don't agree on when life begins, but we both agree that abortions must decrease. You can call him a liar, a friend of terrorists, a socialist, and a "so-called" Christian. I don't want to get into judging people's motivations or their heart (that's God's job), but I can look at their judgement. McCain has become a populist and will do anything to win this election.
Whoever is voted in on November 4, I am trusting that they will be a part of God's sovereign plan. Whether for blessing or for judgment remains to be seen.

THE TRUTH ABOUT REPUBLICANS AND ABORTION
It is wearisome to keep reading the comments of Obama supporters who clearly do not understand the issues that attend the discussion of abortion (the level of ignorance suggests that these folks only become engaged in politics every four years, and at that, do not go much deeper than, We Need Change!)
I will say it simply: President George W. Bush did keep his promise to use the power of his office to oppose abortion. Even more directly, he did everything possible to oppose abortion.
You see, George Bush cannot reverse the noxious practice of abortion by presidential fiat.
Roe v. Wade (the wellspring of that noxious practice) was a Supreme Court decision that allowed babies to be terminated within their mother's wombs.
That decision CAN BE overturned by the Supreme Court. The court would have to revisit the issue and the decision to be overturn would have to be by a simple majority vote, 5-4.
Many legal scholars --- like Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia --- believe that Roe v. Wade was a poor decision. Generally, legal scholars believe that, NOT because they have a specific moral view of abortion (they may have, but that is not their reason for rejecting Roe v. Wade), but because they are strict constructionists, who believe that:
*** The people's elected representatives make the law
*** The president and the rest of the executive branch carry out the law
*** and, the Supreme Court makes decisions when the law is in dispute
The people and their representative did not enact an abortion law. The Supreme Court justices legislated from the bench.
Now, besides Scalia, there are three other strict constructionists on the Supreme Court: Chief Justice John Roberts, Justice Samuel Alito, and Justice Clarence Thomas (I love the guy, so I guess allegations that I am racially prejudiced are hooey).
That makes four potential votes to overturn Roe v. Wade. Since the appointments of Roberts and Alito, there have not been any openings on the court so there was nothing more Bush could do.
However, Justice John Stevens is 213 years old (okay, okay he is 88) and needs to retire. I have no doubt he will retire in the next four years. Being that Stevens is a liberal, I also have no doubt that he stayed on through the end of Bush's tenure in hopes that a liberal like Senator Obama would be elected and fill Steven's seat with another liberal, keeping the composition of the court the way it is now.
So, again, this nonsense that Bush was president for eight years and did nothing about abortion is just that --- nonsense. He did ALL he could do ... and I thank him for that and honor him for that. (And to JAY, who obviously misunderstands the Harriet Miers' story: Harriet, too, would have been a strict constructionist justice. She was opposed because many conservatives felt she --- lacking legal scholarship --- would get run over by the liberals on the court.)
Now, about this election. McCain says --- without equivocation --- that he will appoint justices and judges to the bench that are strict constructionists like Roberts and Alito. And despite all the other issues on our nation's plate right now, I would vote for McCain just on that important promise alone. AMERICA MUST NOT have its laws legislated from the bench but by our elected representatives, else our freedoms will be in jeopardy.
Finally, WHAT IF the Supreme Court gets an opportunity to revisit Roe v. Wade and overturns it? Abortion is over in America, right? Not, necessarily.
The matter would then likely be taken up by each of the 50 state legislatures (where it should have been to begin with). Who can predict what each state would do? But, at least it would be the decision of the people's elected representatives, not nine justices.

What's this call? Pray? I don't think so... It's pray and let's manipulate! Being from Socialist Europe who probably has a Socialist God I thought human government was also given by God. And we have to pray for whoever...
The funny thing for us Europeans (who laugh their heads of because of this so called 'democracy' (the one with most dollars wins) is that in the end when/if Obama is being elected one of a couple of things take place:
a. God hasn't listened to conservative Americans
b. and/or the dollar won
c. and/or God failed
d. and/or conservatives failed to manipulate enough
e. the Christians in America have to rethink their ethics.
f. McCain is just not fit to be president
g. Palin is too dangerous that God prefered Obama
h. The Republicans don't have any agenda (and than change is dangerous)
i. McCain didn't do enough hate/negative commercials
j. America is on the brink of collaps anyway
k. God is more concerned with other countries
l. Osama has manipulated Florida voters
m. Al Quaida has brainwashed all democratic voters
n. Anti-American Americans have won the election....
You pick your choice. But in the end none of you decide. It's ultimately God's choice what happens.
Christians. Stop manipulating and start praying for God's will to be done...
And than save some money, because George W. 'the spender' and his Republican party has left the country broke! Open your eyes to the reality.

Roe v. Wade was decided 7-2
The court was made up of six justices appointed by Republican presidents and three appointed by Democrats. The vote for Roe v. Wade was 5-1 among Republican appointed justices and 2-1 among Democrat appointed justices.
Here is the breakdown:
Burger (Chief) Nixon For
Douglas FDR For

White Kennedy Against

And that, my friend, is precisely why conservatives have pressed McCain for a committment to appoint strict constructionist justices --- exclusively.
To say "Republican justice" is not --- necessarily --- to have said "strict constructionist justice".
The Republican justices who decidedly wrongly on Roe were not the kind of justice McCain promises to nominate.
Even Ronald Reagan's female appointment ---- Sandra Day O'Connor --- was not a strict constructionist.

I am saddened by your comment Steve about "so-called" Christians. Are you now judging our faith if we dare to disagree with you. Your stance reminds me of the days when the Pope claimed infallibility.
In the process of spreading your far right ideology, using the Gospel of Jesus Christ as a means to do so, you have lost sight of the fact that McCain knows many of the same people he has accused Obama of knowing - the problem wigth guilt by association tactics is that they backfire. You and I, Steve, have both been at functions where there were people we wouldn't be caught dead agreeing with. Would it be fair if either of us ran for political office, and our opponents used that against us? Of course not.
Our Lord hung out with people in low places, and was called a drunkard and a whore monger by his critics - guilt by association, but we know that He was not guilty.
McCain has got a lot of milage with the threat of socialism, as have you, Steve, when the reality is that Obama is not near as left as European social democrats, and is so far from being a real socialist that it isn't even funny. But a lot of people don't know any better, and can be played like fiddles by those who take advantage of their fears.
The ridiculous claim by Dutch Sheets that Sarah Palin is like Esther is a lame attempt to give a woman who is simplistic, and not all that well informed, credibility. Read your Bible, Steve, and see if the real Esther and Sarah Palin have anything in common. I have read a couple of books by Sheets, which I found helpful, so I am surprised that he would use scripture to give a secular candidate the veil of being more than she really is.
In doing so, Dutch is so close to being blasphemous that it is scary. As well, he knows his Bible well enough to have no excuse for such a stupid comparison.
Last but not least, the suggestion that AfroAmericans favour Obama because of color is ludicrous. The AfroAmericans I know support him for a number of substantive reasons that have nothing to do with the color of his skin or theirs.
Steve, in your self-righteous fervor, you are increasingly to Chrsitianity what the Pharisees were to the Judaism of Jesus`day. You are holding charismatic Christianity, with all of its richness and miracles, to ridicule.

An important commentary in the National Catholic Reporter by Nicholas P. Cafardi, a civil and canon lawyer, and a professor and former dean at Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh.
Editor's note: Nicholas P. Cafardi is the second high profile Catholic legal scholar who is staunchly anti-abortion yet says he supports Barack Obama. Douglas Kmiec, Ronald Reagan’s constitutional lawyer as head of the office of legal counsel for the Department of Justice, publicly argued a similar case for Obama several weeks ago.
Commentary
I believe that abortion is an unspeakable evil, yet I support Sen. Barack Obama, who is pro-choice. I do not support him because he is pro-choice, but in spite of it. Is that a proper moral choice for a committed Catholic?
As one of the inaugural members of the U.S. bishops' National Review Board on clergy sexual abuse, and as a canon lawyer, I answer with a resounding yes.
Despite what some Republicans would like Catholics to believe, the list of what the church calls "intrinsically evil acts" does not begin and end with abortion. In fact, there are many intrinsically evil acts, and a committed Catholic must consider all of them in deciding how to vote.
Last November, the U.S. bishops released "Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship," a 30-page document that provides several examples of intrinsically evil acts: abortion, euthanasia, embryonic stem-cell research, torture, racism, and targeting noncombatants in acts of war.
Obama's support for abortion rights has led some to the conclusion that no Catholic can vote for him. That's a mistake. While I have never swayed in my conviction that abortion is an unspeakable evil, I believe that we have lost the abortion battle -- permanently. A vote for Sen. John McCain does not guarantee the end of abortion in America. Not even close.
Let's suppose Roe v. Wade were overturned. What would happen? The matter would simply be kicked back to the states -- where it was before 1973. Overturning Roe would not abolish abortion. It would just mean that abortion would be legal in some states and illegal in others. The number of abortions would remain unchanged as long as people could travel.
McCain has promised to appoint "strict constructionist" judges who would presumably vote to overturn Roe v. Wade. But is that sufficient reason for a Catholic to vote Republican? To answer that question, let's look at the rest of the church's list of intrinsically evil acts.
Both McCain and Obama get failing marks on embryonic stem-cell research, which Catholic teaching opposes. The last time the issue was up for a vote in the Senate, both men voted to ease existing restrictions.
But what about an unjust war? In 2003, then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger (now Pope Benedict XVI) said flatly that "reasons sufficient for unleashing a war against Iraq did not exist." McCain voted for it; Obama opposed it.
What about torture? "There is no longer any doubt as to whether the current administration has committed war crimes," according to Antonio Taguba, the retired major general who investigated abuses in Iraq. Obama opposes the use of torture in all cases; McCain, himself a victim of torture, voted to allow the CIA to use so-called "enhanced interrogation techniques" -- a euphemism for torture.
How, some may ask, can I compare these evils with abortion? The right to abortion is guaranteed by the federal judiciary's interpretation of the Constitution. And while the president appoints federal judges, the connection between a president's appointments and the decisions rendered by his appointees is tenuous at best. After all, in 1992, five Republican-appointed justices voted to uphold Roe v. Wade in Planned Parenthood v. Casey. Yet on other intrinsic evils -- an unjust war, torture, ignoring the poor -- I can address those evils directly by changing the president.
There's another distinction that is often lost in the culture-war rhetoric on abortion: There is a difference between being pro-choice and being pro-abortion. Obama supports government action that would reduce the number of abortions, and has consistently said that "we should be doing everything we can to avoid unwanted pregnancies that might even lead somebody to consider having an abortion." He favors a "comprehensive approach where ... we are teaching the sacredness of sexuality to our children." And he wants to ensure that adoption is an option for women who might otherwise choose abortion.
Obama worked all of that into his party's platform this year. By contrast, Republicans actually removed abortion-reduction language from their platform.
What's more, as recent data show, abortion rates drop when the social safety net is strengthened. If Obama's economic program will do more to reduce poverty than McCain's, then is it wrong to conclude that an Obama presidency will also reduce abortions? Not at all.
Every faithful Catholic agrees that abortion is an unspeakable evil that must be minimized, if not eliminated. I can help to achieve that without endorsing Republicans' immoral baggage. Overturning Roe v. Wade is not the only way to end abortion, and a vote for Obama is not somehow un-Catholic.
The U.S. bishops have urged a "different kind of political engagement," one that is "shaped by the moral convictions of well-formed consciences."
I have informed my conscience. I have weighed the facts. I have used my prudential judgment. And I conclude that it is a proper moral choice for this Catholic to support Barack Obama's candidacy.

PRIESTS FOR LIFE
October 27, 2008
Dear brothers and sisters,
In these days you are seeking the votes of your fellow Americans for public office. At the same time, you take the position that abortion, however regrettable it may be, should remain legal.
I write to express the convictions of tens of millions of citizens. Your position is a blatant contradiction to the very meaning of public service, the first requirement of which is to be able to tell the difference between serving the public and killing the public!
We ask, first of all, Have you ever seen an abortion? So many who defend abortion’s legality cannot even bring themselves to look at the horrifying pictures of children torn apart by the procedure (www.unborn.info). But if we cannot look at it, why should we tolerate it?
We likewise ask, Are you willing to publicly describe what you think should be legal? Abortionist Dr. Martin Haskell, in sworn testimony, described the “D and E” abortion procedure, still legal throughout our nation, by saying, “Typically the skull is brought out in fragments rather than as a unified piece…" (Madison, WI, May 27, 1999, Case No. 98-C-0305-S). In the same case, abortionist Dr. Hylan Raymond Giles, when asked, “Can the heart of a fetus or embryo still be beating during a suction curettage abortion as the fetus or embryo comes down the cannula?” answered, “For a few seconds to a minute, yes.”
When you say the word “abortion,” is this what you mean? When you say it should be legal, are you willing to quote those who explain what it is?
Your position is undermining the fabric of our nation. We repeat to you again the question posed by Mother Teresa in her speech at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC on February 3, 1994. “And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?"
We have not yet heard a “pro-choice” candidate answer any of these questions.
That’s why people cannot vote for you, and you shouldn’t be asking for their vote. If you can’t respect and protect the life of a little baby, how are you supposed to respect and protect our lives, or any other right we possess?
When you ask citizens for their vote, you are actually asking them to share in your failure to protect these children. You’re asking them to share in the deception by which you justify that failure. You’re asking them, too, to contradict the meaning of public service. They are not morally permitted to say yes to what you are asking.
We in the pro-life movement do not need any reminders about the plight of young mothers. We serve them every day, providing real alternatives to abortion.
Nor do we accept the accusation that we are narrowly focused on a “single issue.” We are not ashamed of the fact that we recognize a holocaust when we see one, and that we understand the foundation, heart, and core of our concern for all the other issues – life itself.
We’re not a vote for you to court or an interest group for you to appease. Rather, our movement represents the heart and core of every movement for justice. That is why, whether you end up elected to public office or not, we will be there – in the halls of government, in the media, and on the streets of every city, town, and countryside across America – pressing the cause of justice for a group of human beings whose rights you have forgotten.
We will neither cease to remind you, nor will we wait for you to remember. Our cause is as great as America itself, and it will prevail. May you have the wisdom to join us.
Sincerely,
Father Frank Pavone

The biggest problem associated with Barack Obama is his contempt for the Constitution, which is demonstrated by his failure to provide evidence that he is a natural born citizen.
As of today, Barack Obama has failed to meet the burden of proof on him to prove that he was born in Hawaii. He has stonewalled and resisted every reasonable request to produce his original birth certificate, and open all his documents to the light of day.
I document in great detail his ineligibility for the Presidency in the new first chapter of the second edition of my book What Does Barack Obama Believe? here:

Dear Mr. Strang, THANK YOU so very much for standing strong and speaking the truth. We are currently in this mess, because too many in the church have bowed at the altar of political correctness.
I am a white Christian lady who will be voting for McCain. As a conservative, and member of the party of Lincoln I truly wish there was a black candidate in our party who shared my beliefs and convictions that I could wholeheartedly support for President.
I harbor no hard feelings about Mr. Obama for the color of his skin, yet I am appaulled by the black racism that is evident, yet denied, in this electoral process. Someone needs to call out the black evangelicals on this issue and call it what it is.
So called black "christians" are voting for Obama because of his color, and ignoring the fact he favors abortion, his corrupt associations, his socialistic agenda, and so much more.
When will the black community AND the white community ALL truly do what Dr. King said and judge a man not by the color of his skin but the content of his character.
Please, Please, Mr. Strang speak the truth!!!! This man is most dangerous to our country. I pray God spare us for four more years to get our act together in the church so that we can influence society.
God will hold people responsible for the way they vote. Should they vote for Obama with all his godless agendas, the citizens who vote for godlessness will be judged as harshly as the leaders in office.
God help us. Save us from a man who claims to unite, but who will ultimately cause deep divide in our nation unless you intervene. We are destined for something horrific, unless you save us from ourselves, Lord. Do not let the enemy divide your church with the issue of race. I can no longer pray God Bless America, for we have sinned! My cry is God have MERCY upon America.
When our cry for mercy becomes louder than the cry for change I believe God will hear from Heaven and heal our land.
Keep speaking up Charisma. God bless you for your stand!

There are other prophetic voices speaking out there, Steve Strang, who have been right on over the years and the consensus seems to be that in order to "tip the balance" it is up to the Christians to humble themselves and pray as never before, in Spirit and in truth. Unfortunately, there are so many Christians who have bought into the "entitlement/what's in it for me??" Christianity. They are blinded by their greed and other motives and aren't hearing the Lord as to how to vote according to what pleases HIM ... including asking for forgiveness for the holocaust of 50 million babies. It gets easier to understand the delusion there will be in even more desperate times someday, when people will be blinded by the hype and flash of the Anti-Christ. Last night I couldn't sleep as I was praying with tears because all that kept coming to me was how in the Bible, when the Israelites insisted on a "King" (despite God's warning to them) and He said,"You want a King? You'll get a King." It's not a white/black issue with me. If McCain/Palin were black, I'd vote for them. I'm white ... but I'm a Christian above all. I have a dear black friend who is voting McCain. The irony is that he is getting persecution from black people. It seems to me that the black people that are voting for Obama because he is black and persecuting everyone who isn't voting that way ... isn't that a form of racism? I wouldn't think of voting for someone for their skin color! It boggles my mind! Jesus was Jewish. What color was HIS skin???! If Obama was white, I wouldn't vote for him. Would those of you who are black vote for him if he was white ... he IS half-white, you know. How can you vote for someone who wants to continue the wholesale slaughter of babies like Obama? Not to mention his other liberal policies. He is selling America a bill of goods and for those who voted him to be "King", I can only say, God have mercy on you! God help America!!!!
I'm continuing to PRAY!

Dear Readers and Steve: I am not as well educated as many of those I have just read, but I wonder if anyone else fears for the unthinkable...the possibility of the loss of our freedoms as spelled out in our Constitution. With a Democratic win on Tuesday, there will be an overwhelming voting majority of Democrats in Congress, in the Senate and in the White House..Amendments to our Constitution become therefore an easier matter, and with liberal justices appointed to the Supreme Court, where then does our balance of power lie? Challenges to amendments would be easily overturned..Now this is assuming everyone continues to vote along party lines and yes, shows the backbone and integrity that congress currently displays! Someone tell me I'm crazy.. I fear for our republic!

This is not a republican/democrat election, this is a God/Devil election. Race has nothing to do with it, evil is evil. If Alan Keyes was running on the republican ballot, I'm convinced the blacks wouldn't vote for him because he was republican. Somehow they have been deceived as to how to vote Godly principles this election and not color.God open their eyes and save us from the evil destruction of B. HUSEIN Obama or BO which so correctly identifies his character, and beliefs. America is going down with him in control. Wake Up America! Our next election should be Keyes/Rice.

Steve Strang,
I really wonder whether it is wise for you to use your blog and 'fire in my bones' platform to support your polical agenda. I can understand that everyone has a right to his or her belief on what is 'right' or 'wrong' in their own faith in the Lord. To label "the others" as those who does not share your view is downright offensive.
God has given each of us a 'choice' to choose what is 'right' or 'wrong'in accordance to His Word. The onus of the choice is with 'US' , and the each of us is accorded a measure of faith by God.
I personally belive that abortion is wrong in the eyes of God. To put it in harsh terms, we are killing our children before they are born. Did the state force us to make the choice? NO! we are the one who are responsible for our own actions. Do you think that politics will stop the 'wrong' choice? No!
I personally believe that marriage is God ordained between a man and a woman. BOTH Mc Cain and Obama believe that should be left to the each state and consider homosexual unions as civil unions. What does it tell us? Politics (man made) rises above the Word of God.
Do you think or expect others to belive that voting for Mc Cain will change anything? If you answer is 'Yes' then I think you are naive and leading many down the 'garden' path.
I do agree with many who feels that the urgent matter at hand id "God's" plan and that is why He has left His Bride in the world. If we spend more time and resources to the 5 fold ministries, it will strengthen the Church against all the humanistic influence of the end times.
Apostles - are we building the apostles with the power of the Spirit to lead and plant new churches?
Prophets - are they the guardians and the eyes of their church? I have no issues on them selling their books on their experience and revelations by their gifting; however offering to tell people about god's will in their lives for a fee is downright abusing their office and one of the prophetess who has links to 'Fire in my Bobes' does that and I suggest you check all your advertisements.
Evangelist - are they sowing and harvesting in accordance to the word of God? Consider Lakeland revival and the messup! Please check your various comments on Todd Bently! Do you make some errors yourself ( we are human after all)?
Pastors - are they guarding the flock according to god's plan?
Teachers - are they teaching the right truths in accordance to Word of God.
'You shall know the truth and the truth will make you free'
If all the 5 fold ministry is developed in each individual church, then the truth will change lives and they will 'KNOW' and be convicted on God's value.Christian will not ebgage in abortion and homosexual activities.
The ANSWER is not whether John McCain or Barack Obama becomes the next president; but rather Jesus Christ is the KIng of our lives and church.
WHAT ROLE IS YOUR PLATFORM PLAYING?
Politics pandering or 'Truth' revelation??? It is not about not allowing someone to make a wrong choice; but blessing someone so that they can make the 'right' choice.

Your insinuation that all "real" Christians are white and supporting McCain is disgusting. Senator Obama offers hope where these conservatives have robbed us of jobs, money and security. They have intimidated with fear and negativity, and Americans are tired of it. We pray for a Uniter, not a Divider, which is what G.W.Bush promised us, and then went in the exact opposite direction. Admit it, we were all hood winked and it's time to give the other side a chance. They deserve it after what we have suffered at the hands of these so-called "conservative christians". You sir, are a fear mongerer, and fear mongering has no place in the life of a person of faith in Christ Jesus.
You place too much faith in "America" and too much faith, in your "political profess" and so little faith in God, and so little faith in God fearing Americans, who (if they vote at all, as many Christians don't believe in the political process) when election day comes, they will vote with their heart, conscience and the sense the feel from God as to whom should have their vote.
All your fear mongering and name calling is not going to change any of that. When the results are in, all your tattling and name calling toward Christians who voted for Obama will mean nothing either. You are one whining voice, that is all wrapped up in politics. Politics and the life of Christians are like oil and water, they rarely mix, and if they do, it is more like a potent salad dressing than anything else.
The election of GWB proves that being a Christian doesn't mean squat when you make decisions that Christ would never do, and when your decisions lead to the deaths of millions of people. You can identify with Mr. Bush if you want, but there is nothing godly in the man or the works of hands or the legacy of his presidency. The election of Mr. McCain is the election for more of the same.
Go ahead and raise up fear and try to manipulate Christians. You will not succeed. Christians will vote with their heart, their conscience, and do what they believe to be right for the nation, and my sense is, that is will not be a Republican presidency.
Your fear mongering is only going to make more people go in the other direction.
